Thornton Construction added a new two-story high school classroom building to house the District's first standalone iPrep Academy. Thomas Thornton, founder and president of Thornton Construction Company, Inc., has been in the construction industry since the early 1990s. After graduating from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Building Construction, he worked alongside a couple of the top construction firms in Florida. Soon after he started his own company and was quickly successful.
A project of this magnitude and complexities required a tremendous amount of coordination and we believe that Thornton Construction Company performed excellently in managing the various trade contractors to minimally disrupt LAN's ongoing import oper. Thornton showed excellent communication skills, easing the burden of construction inconveniences on the facilities' staff and neighboring tenants.
