Oh Greg knows a lot about garage door. Prior to his visit, i told him i got a "wayne dalton type of spring" so he has a pretty good idea of how much he will charge me (parts and labor) -250ish
Anyway, on the day of our appointment, i got off from work earlier than i should so i can personally meet him at home. He said he will be at my home before 5pm and i told him i will be there on or before 5pm as well so i wished him to take his time (driving to my place). I was told i was his last customer for the day (he said i am 60 yrs old, i gotta get some rest).
I got home before 5 and

I have received Greg’s services on three separate occasions in 2012, 2016, and 2019. Each time he has provided me with excellent service at a just price. We bought our house 2 yrs ago, first time having issues with the garage door. Abel Garage Door stickers were all over the garage door unit and right on top of the garage door button affixed on the wall. Called Greg let him know what was going on, let him know the light stopped working and I replaced them with 3 other bulbs, says he was busy on top of a ladder and supposedly took my name and number down to call me back. Never heard back from him. Called and left a message for him the same day, still haven't heard back... Follow up is terrible. Ripped the worthless Abel Stickers from my wall

Always a fast response, honest work, honest fees. We've used Abel for many years and every time we call, I remember why we keep that sticker on the door.
This time it was finally time to stop repairing and just replace our old, broken, torn, bent door. They were willing to fix it, but a new door really was a better option (we'd been thinking about it and pricing). The service we received was LESS expensive than Home Depot and Lowes. We LOVE our new door and the fabulous service we get time and time again.

Greg Files just came out and fixed our garage door. Amazing customer service! He informed us that our 250lb garage door spring broke because the previous homeowner had only one spring installed, when Mr Files explained we need 2 springs not one for the weight of the door. I'm so happy he explained that, it could of been a nasty accident if a family member was crushed by a 250lb door! He came out the very next day. Super fast and efficient. I highly recommend.

You will not find many companies with great customer service and traditional American hard-working values such as Abel. At first introduction, you get a sense that they are an honest company with nothing but good intentions. Not only are they upfront, but they will explain everything to you thoroughly so that you could make an informed decision. These folks are here to serve and offer a fair price to do so. My elderly sister's garage door was intermittently stopping when going up or down. She had a friend look at it and he thought it was the obstruction sensors (the ones which detect a foreign object in the door's closing path and which we know only are in effect when the door is going down - not up). She then called the door vendor who sent out Neighborhood Garage Door Services (GDS). Their diagnosis ($89.95) required new springs, sensors, rollers and center bushing for $1,000+. .Previous customers have not been pleased with GDS and they have a well earned Yelp rating of 1 star because

We had a great experience with with Abel Garage Door. After calling, the service man was here with a few hours and had the problem fixed for a very reasonable price, replacing the spring, a few cracked hinges and screw, all of which he had on his truck.
I have to say I'm surprised at some of the other poor reviews, Greg was friendly and helpful and very reasonably priced. I would really like to thank him for showing up so quick!
