It is truly fun to work with Katie Schroder. She has great energy as well as wonderful taste and ideas. She assembled samples of tiles, paints, carpets, papers that reflected my conversations with her and so improved on my basic ideas. And I love the look that she made possible for me. Katie and her staff were very accessible and quick to follow up to emails, phone calls, and such helpful, pleasant people to deal with.

We were a little hesitant to take the plunge and work with a designer to help us decorate our new home. But after meeting with Erika at Atelier, we felt like they could help us spend our money and make the biggest impact. We blew our initial budget out of the water (we did so much more than we initially thought we would), but we couldn’t be happier with the way everything has turned out! Erika really pushed us out of our comfort zone and challenged us to think differently, which opened our minds to new design ideas, colors, and textures. Worked with Katie initially as we were going to move to Denver from SF. At first, everything was good. Picked out carpet, paint, etc. Then, when it came to the remodel work, they recommended their primary contractor....gave a 90k bid for 40k of work. When I baulked at the cost, they said they had other people we could use but never called me again. Wasted so much of our valuable time, as we had invested two months of discussions with them. However, over two year we wound up remodeling so much more than we originally planned....200k in total...which would have been 300-400k through them.

I interview several other interior design firms and was really happy to choose Erika at Atelier. She worked with us for 9 months through a full gut rehab of our mountain home. She was easy to work with and very accommodating to our needs, saving us a lot of time and headache with her advice and skills.

Atelier turned our house into a home! From the outset Erika was a patient listener, and she carefully assessed and re-assesed the scope of the project month-to-month, to keep priorities up front and costs down. This was my first experience working with an interior decorator. Erika did an outstanding job on my small 2 BR/2 BA condo. She was very easy to work with and had great ideas even given the small project. Although she typically does high-end work, she didn't treat me like I was just one of the "little guys." She was also very thoughtful with the items she chose according to my personal style, and she was committed to staying within my price points (the thing I worried most about). We had the great fortune of having Ericka be the "Designer on Call" at the Denver Design Center. We have worked with her over the past several months to create an awesome and very comfortable home. She was able to combine custom items w/ready-to-buy things and stayed within our budget. She made our newly built and lackluster home into the home of our dreams. Can't thank her enough!

They went 140% over the discussed budget. Accepted delivery of broken items and let me discover the breakage for myself. Horrible at returning phone calls. Sent costing statements to the wrong address repeatedly after being told of the correction. They are not interested in helping you achieve a desired look if it means some of the things you want to buy are not things they can collect a commission on (i.e. from retailers vs. the design center). Their "team work" approach only muddies the situation from a time and cost standpoint and their hourly rate is much higher than other designers

I can't say enough positive things about Atelier Design. Their staff really helped to put together some great ideas for paint color, furniture, wall decorations as well as a kitchen remodel project while keeping cost limitations in mind. I would highly recommend Atelier to anyone who is looking enhance their home or place of business.
