I launched Room Fu in 2005, after an epiphany. I decided to take my design degree and experience as a Creative Director in NYC and combine it with the hands-on home remodeling experience I gained after moving back to Texas. A couple of years later, Room Fu won back-to-back BEST OF AUSTIN awards from Austin Chronicle readers-moments that assured me that I'd found my calling.

Design with Consignment-Whether you need to buy or sell used furnishings, this store carries the nicer things. Home Consignment-Mixed in with used items are lots of close-outs with manufacturers' tags still on, and retired model home furniture that has never truly been used.

I have used Room Fu services several times now...for help choosing tile and countertops for my kitchen, redecorating my master bedroom, and most recently for redecorating our living room. This last job included purchasing new furniture, lamps, and a rug. Robin is always so helpful. She makes good suggestions while always considering my taste and budget. If you want someone who can help you with decorating decisions, Room Fu is the way to go!

Timeline disclosure - I used Robin back in 2009. When I looked for her listing to write a review then, I couldn't find it. And now I ran into it when I was looking for interior designers.
I wanted a bright and bold house 5 years ago. Robin was energetic, and excited to work on picking the colors out. I told her some of my ideas for a bright pop of orange, etc. She ran with my ideas well initially. But as we got into the main living/kitchen areas, I wanted the tone to be more muted, and wanted to opt for something more pastel or neutral. At this point is where my experience with Room Fu went

Robin transformed my living room with items I already had, suggested items within my budget, and changed the entire feeling of that room--- ALL in just ONE session - she is a dream come true!! If you're unsure of hiring Room Fu---get up and call them right now.
We needed a special touch to help finish off our living room so it looked lived-in but interesting...but it was difficult to do it ourselves (workaholics) and I didn't want to buy mismatched items just to return them. Hiring Robin for my home remodel was hands-down one of the smartest decisions I could have made.
When friends who had hired Robin for their kitchen remodel recommended I consult with her, my initial thought was, 'but don't you have to be one of "those people" to get help from a decorator?' Getting past that thought has saved me so much time and money. Instead of painting each room a few times trying to find the perfect shade of 'neutral' I painted awesome colors that make sense together from room-to-room and let's face it, saved myself a lot of time

After doing lots of research I used Robin for my new condo. She helped me figure out how to arrange a difficult living room, new paint scheme throughout my main rooms. I love her work, several friends have gone on to use her as well. I have very cool painted ceilings which I love thanks to Robin! Her website does a great job of show casing her work and gives you and idea of what to expect. Can't wait to do my next room with Robin's help!

Robin is an AMAZING designer with exquisite taste and respect for her client's budget. She's much more interested in providing solutions that work for homeowners than expressing her own creative vision. But trust me ... go with her vision and let her do her thang! She creates beautiful, live-able, modern environments that become your happy places. In addition to all that, she listens to what you want and she's fun and easy to work with. Robin Callan is a design GURU!!!! We had a house built in Cedar Park, and before we even had electricity in the house, she came over and spent many cold hours in a dusty, just dry-walled house, working with me on what I wanted to do with the space. I pulled out 2 camp chairs and a fold out table from my Honda CRV and she put together a plan for the oddly spaced living room/dining room.
She worked with me on my sometimes non-existant budget and did a fine job recommending the paint selections (gorgeous!), the layouts, fabric selection (hello Sunbrella!), some light fixtures, and service companies

We used Robin with Room Fu to help us with a design plan for our living and dining room. She worked with some existing pieces we already owned and existing paint color and came up with a super way to maximize the use of this space. She allowed us to do some of the legwork to save money which I wanted to do. She's kind, creative and talented. We have gone back to her for a plan for a kitchen remodel. We have known Robin for several happy years. Robin has now designed interiors for three of our homes. One of these homes is a Homeaway rental and we always receive raves about her creation of a true mid-century décor. We worked hand in hand with Robin during this project and as a result became even bigger fans, if that is possible!

I typically avoid publicly criticizing small businesses, especially during tough economic times, but believe it's warranted in this case. I contacted Robin about doing some basic interior consulting for my new house. My living room is an odd shape, but she came over and created a layout/space plan that has worked well and was worth the money. Unfortunately, my experience with Room Fu was all downhill from there. I asked for a few suggestions on couches. She emailed links to a couple of possibilities, but I asked for a few more. This time, without my knowing or approval, she spent hours

Robin from RoomFu helped us select interior elements for the house we were building, then mediated a husband/wife dispute about paint colors, and then helped us figure out what to do with a wonky side-room in our house. It all looks great. We get lots of compliments. I am so impressed with Robin's skill and pure talent at creating cost-effective but highly personalized designs. So impressed, in fact, that I got a RoomFu gift certificate for a friend buying her first house so that she can really make the home her own. . . with a little guidance from Robin and RoomFu.

Robin rocked my house! She came up with an awesome paint palette for our walls, and a great, low-cost design plan for our living room. We did most of the renovations ourselves, and then Robin did the finishing touches.
