Merit's roots stretch all the way back to the 1880s, when the Stark Building Company was newly formed. Dick Rinderknecht, our founder, bought the company in 1941 and changed the name to Rinderknecht Construction. When he retired in 1969, the business became Rinderknecht Associates, Inc., an employee-owned company.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process that begins with the creation of an intelligent 3D model and enables document management, coordination and simulation during the entire lifecycle of a project (plan, design, build, operation and maintenance). Is a project delivery method unlike the traditional low bid design-bid-build method.

The people at Merit are great to work with. The first thing I'd probably say about this company is their attitude with regard to accountability. Their estimators and project managers are really impressive people. They have a way of catching things (inconsistencies in blueprints, etc.) early on that would otherwise become a huge problem down the road and lead to unanticipated expenses to a building owner/developer.
Their carpenters are also some of the best I've seen. I don't know where they find these guys because tradesmen of this caliber aren't exactly falling out of the trees these days.
