Make sure your painting contractor holds the proper licensing. They should have a business license as well as a contractor's license issued through VA DPOR. A business license alone is not enough. In fact it is illegal for them to operate without a valid VA State Contractor's License. When hiring a painting contractor, ALWAYS make sure they carry Workers Compensation Insurance!
The most important preventive step you can take is to observe your garage door in action every time you use it. Is it moving smoothly or is it jerky in places? Does it operate silently or does it make grinding or scraping noises? Do both sides of the system (springs, pulleys and cables) look symmetrical?

Came across Audette's Garage Doors after a very brief google search to repair my old garage opener. After a very personal and professional meeting regarding my issue, Brian was very helpful and responsive to getting the work done. He was prompt, clean, and did great work; added bonus... he is a local Hampton Roads native, which as a VA Beach'er myself, I was glad to support local family and friends. Best experience ever!

Recently got our garage doors replaced. Ordered a few months ago but with all the craziness(COVID delays) it took a bit for the supplier to ship the doors. Through all of it Brian and Marie kept me informed and made sure I knew they hadn’t forgotten and that they were regularly checking on the status of our doors. Highly recommend Audette’s Garage Door if you are looking to replace or have maintenance done on your garage doors. Brian installed in one day, was prompt and professional and I am very happy with the final product!

I contacted Audette's to replace the broken spring on my garage door. Brian came out the same day and provided an estimate for the repair. He came back the next morning and replaced and serviced the door. Garage door is working like new. Brian was very easy to work with and went above and beyond for a fair price. This is a quality locally owned small business who cares about customer service. Highly recommended.
