Bart did an amazing job building us a small fence around our lawn in our backyard! He was prompt with getting back to me and coming and giving us a quote and the entire project was done within a weeks time. His craftsmanship is beautiful and the fence looks very sturdy and good quality. He was also slightly less expensive than another fence company we got a quote from. During installation it turned out we had a sprinkler right where a post should be and he offered to go buy parts and move the sprinkler head for us to make it work. All in all Bart is great and we highly recommend!

Bart at Java fence did some great jobs for us in Orinda. 150 feet of 1 by 6 rough cedar fencing and a 60 foot 3 foot high pressure treated wood retaining wall.

They are holding up great.

In a tribute to his craftsmanship, he had to visit several stores to find matching cedar 2 by 4s for the fence. Most others would have just used redwood.

I was referred to Bart through a connection at my office and I am so happy to have him and his assistant work for my family. From the estimate to the first day on the job, I've felt comfortable with Bart's expertise and experience. I can see the level of detail that he puts into selecting boards and placing them as well. The section of fence he placed in our back yard looks beautiful and outshines neighboring fences in my community.

Today was the 2nd time I had an appointment for Bart to come out and give a fencing estimate. The work was to be done at my relative's house which is a 35 min drive for me to meet him. He could not give me an appointment right away, so we set a date to meet within 2 weeks. After waiting an hour at the first appt and leaving messages on his voicemail, I finally reached him and he said he did not have an appt with me for that date/time, but he could meet me a week later. We made an appt for the following week at 10am. So I drove home having wasted driving and waiting time.

Today I waited

I made an appointment with Bart from Java Fence for Sunday 9am for him to come and look at the job to give me an estimate. I made changes in my day and plans to meet him. 9:00am rolled around, no sign of Bart. 9:15am I called him on both numbers I had for him, no answer so I left messages with my number inquiring what his ETA was. 9:26am he calls me and leaves a message saying he wasn't going to make the appointment and was passing on the job. Oh, and that he didn't have my number to call me in advance to cancel (even though he had called me on it 2 times prior).

I can't say anything

Bart just completed a good neighbor fence for me and I am so pleased and impressed with his work. Instead of just putting up a straight fence, he staggered the height giving the fence just a little extra beauty and interest. That combined with his reasonable pricing has left me feeling very satisfied and confident that I have a great vendor to go to next time I need fence work done. He is very pleasant to deal with.

Professional fence making is what you get with Bart. He is honest, hard working and took his time to make sure this fence was perfectly built. We mainly needed a fence for the dog not to escape. Our lot is challenging since it is on a hillside, but he made sure no gaps were left for our doggy te get out. Fence looks great, thanks Bart!
