In 1959, Architects Cole Smith Sr., and Robert Ekblad founded Smith Ekblad & Associates, Inc., dedicating their practice to meeting their clients' needs as well as proving good stewards of the city and of the land. Cole Smith, FAIA, founded Whitesmith & Company, Inc. in 1993. Introduced to forging and metalwork in the 1940's, Smith continues to design and fabricate prototypes at his own forge.
