Georgeanne Gaffney Studio

Georgeanne Gaffney is a landscape and portrait painter living in Saranac Lake, New York. Using multiple layers of paints and glazes, rich in color and texture, she creates dreamy, romantic and contemplative works that have an aged and atmospheric effect.

Working from photographs she takes herself, her paintings translate intimate observations expressed in subtle shadows and dappled light, and celebrate and initiate a dialogue about our relationship with nature.Georgeanne's work is exhibited and collected nationally. Commissions are available upon request.

Georgeanne also works in the commercial field of architecture as a decorative finisher, creating murals, textures, glazes, antiqued and distressed finishes on walls, furniture, floors and more, working from the planning stages to completion in collaboration with clients, architects and designers. She is active in fostering art and culture in her local community as a member of The Adirondack Artists Guild and Saranac Lake ArtWorks.
