Kim Sankey is the Founder, lead Interior Designer, and Owner of Gatehouse Studio. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, Kim began her career in Merchandising. On a trip to Paris, Kim and her husband Bill attended the Maison & Objet design show. This trip was the catalyst that lead her to fulfill her dream of opening up her own home furnishings store.
In 2004 Gatehouse Studio was born. Gatehouse Studio has continued to grow into a multifaceted company offering retail home goods, home staging, and interior design services. Kim prides herself on offering quality products and personalized attention to detail.

Services
Our client from LA purchased this property in Malibu in order to have an escape from the busy city life. The result was a comfortable and beautiful surf retreat for everyone to enjoy together. For this particular project, the client desired a rustic and organic feel; however, considering the house was on the waterfront of Bay Island in Newport Beach, we wanted to infuse a coastal vibe, as well.
