For 15 years, Ann Marie Baum has been on the cutting edge of modern interior design in Raleigh and throughout the Triangle. In 2004 her furniture store and design shop, Cherry Modern, was one of the first to bring the best modern Italian furniture from B&B Italia, Cassina, Paolo Lenti and others into the North Carolina market.
A good interior designer is the ultimate multi-tasker, bringing to the work an understanding of spatial relationships, of color and texture, of lighting, of flow, a compendium of resources for everything from furniture to fixtures, an up-to-the-minute fluency in the latest innovations in everything from countertops to flooring, the deftness to incorporate a treasured heirloom into even the most modern interior.

Commercial interior design presents a unique set of challenges. Baum Shelter Design has worked with architects, developers, and business and medical professionals to create commercial interiors that are efficient, durable and reflect the professional image of the client. I first met and worked with Ann Marie while she was the Director and Designer at Cherry Modern and I was a Design Architect at Clearscapes PA.
