You can tell a lot about a contractor by watching their work on someone else’s jobsite. John and crew worked on a neighbor’s house last summer- orderly, quiet, well-equipped, each person doing their job, and the boss right with them. The house looked great too, so I got on his list for both interior and exterior work. John and crew just completed our house with excellent results- surface protection and prep, the painting itself, and attention to detail. He’s also a fine person and a clear communicator. I’d hire him again with no hesitation. If only other MDI contractors were even close

Every step of this process was easy as it could be.
From the first contact via email, through bidding/estimating and starting day 6 months later, John Welch was easy to reach and clear as a bell. He helped me with color and materials choices as well as clearly defining the parameters and goals of the job, and I felt completely confident in his advice.
They did a great job protecting our gardens and containing the debris from lead paint removal. Every single employee was polite and friendly and a good, hard worker. John must be a good boss, because, as hard and fast as they scraped and painted

After working on the interior for two years including a new kitchen we selected exterior paint colors and hired John Welch. We could not be more satisfied with his work. He is an absolute professional. The property was left immaculate at the end of each day, his manner was very pleasant and helpful. The crew worked diligently alongside him. John and his team did an excellent job painting our guest house. They arrived on schedule and advised us how the work would proceed. When they found issues with rotted boards they proposed corrective work and executed it in a timely and cost effective manner. John and his team take pride in their work, I really felt our satisfaction mattered to them !

John and his crew are fantastic. Not many businesses know how to under promise and over deliver but John does every time. We've used him three times over the last 8 years and we are always completely impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. The first time we used him, we picked out a color and the local company mixed the paint but it came out looking more purple than the brown we wanted on our exterior. On recent work John did for us on the interior of our home, we were just delighted with the results. The repair to our plaster wall was superb, and the color and trim work applied so smoothly. We had a lot of tricky bannister and molding work that turned out beautifully with his careful eye and hand.
