I started working construction in 1973. My brother and I began our construction company in 1978, but I bought him out in 1988 and became a sole proprietor. Because we live on a barrier island, building codes and practices have changed many times during my career. Seeing the OBX evolve over the years has been challenging as a builder, but it has also been rewarding when our final products are stronger and more energy efficient.
This home was custom designed and constructed just for the hill and it's awesome panaramic views. Custom exterior and interior with many curves an angles in this architectural beauty.

Almost doubled the size of their living room by economically building out over their existing covered deck. Having the foundation and roof system already in place saved them thousands of dollars - they love it. Notice the bright natural lighting provided by all the windows. The wood floors are 1*6 tongue and groove knotty pine-stained and clear coated making a beautiful looking floor that's easy to clean.
This was an incredible project and something very different from the ordinary that the home owner asked me to build. This tower project was designed by a well known architectural firm from the DC area. It is constructed structurally to take a blow and tall enough to offer incredible views of the whole surrounding area.
