Services
Our client's at this home in Los Feliz asked us to make their backyard more liveable. The previous owners had added a pool on the top terrace with no shelter, seating or facilities. The project began with the design of a sweeping timber roof structure that would provide shade for seating and a spa underneath.
Designed by John DeLario, the house was full of character but was in need of updating for contemporary family living. Some subtle adjustments to the floorplan allowed us to relocate the master bedroom, creating space for a new Jack and Jill bathroom. We filled the house with mementos and reminders of the family's world travels - from Moroccan encaustic tile to custom plaster work and textiles from India, Indonesia and Mexico.
Down a hidden private drive lies a magical Spanish compound that is as lovely as it is unique. The walled and gated property is an unexpected surprise that transports you to another era. The main home features 3 bedrooms and boasts rustic character and original charm with hardwood floors, fireplaces and original architectural details.

I just wanted to say thanks to Vidal Design Collaborative team with my interior design project for my Palm Springs home. They helped us pick out hand crafted cement tiles for our bathrooms and custom color selections for our spanish style home. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Vidal Design Collaborative. We hired them to remodel our outdated galley kitchen — an awkward space that other contractors/designers just couldn’t crack. The others suggest cosmetic fixes, but nothing too inspiring. It was a whole different story when VDC came in — Karen had a vision for the space that no one else thought of. She figured out a way to open it up, while mirroring existing architectural details in the house.

Karin designed some outdoor projects for us that tied the full property together as well as helped us with some design elements for the interior. The "magic" that Karin brings is her approach to utilize existing components and to rework/weave into something new and fresh. With the introduction of her design expertise, we were provided with a more harmonious space, which was what we needed. We would definitely recommend Vidal Design.

We absolutely recommend Vidal Design for any home or outdoor renovations. We were novices to home design, and when we started the process with Vidal Design, we only had a vague sense of what we wanted done. We just weren't happy with our house.
