The concept for Two Strong Arms Moving arose while I, Dale, was offering my individual moving services to people who did not want to hire traditional moving companies. The reasons for this varied. Sometimes the job was relatively small but often it was that the costs of a full service moving company was exorbitant.

Consequently, my clients would hire me and often, someone else from Craigslist to help them move. Unfortunately, I had never met the other person and often they had little to no experience moving and a questionable work ethic.

Consequently, I thought it would be helpful to my clients, myself, and other independent movers who provide good quality work to form a collective that allowed clients to make one call or text to set up as many movers as they needed and have the confidence that they were all reliable, experienced, easy going, and accustomed to working together. After all, on Craigslist you never really know what you are getting.
Services
Time starts when we leave Chico, but we will advice of the estimated travel time. For Oroville, Paradise, and Orland this is 1 hour for the round trip (30 minutes each way). Based on a few questions concerning the nature of the job, I can provide a pretty good estimate of the time it will take us to complete it depending on the number of guys you decide to use.
In addition to being one of our independent movers, Dale is creator and coordinator for Two Strong Arms Moving. The Two Strong Arms collective was his idea and arose as he realized the services he and other independent movers provide were filling a gap in service needs for people who would prefer not to spend $800 to a $3500 for professional movers.
Dale and Anthony got the job done with excellence: On time, efficiently, and with everything safely carried and positioned, they loaded Mom's two-bedroom apartment on Labor Day weekend into a 20-foot U-Haul. They used space well, secured all objects for safety, and provided personalized customer service at every step from initial inquiry to job completion.
Packing is tedious and to do it well, particularly day in and day out, requires a person who is detail oriented and takes genuine pleasure in organizing minutia. If you can do this, or can make yourself do it for one move, then you will save money by doing it yourself. If you choose to hire a packer, beware.
