American Openings history began as a family-owned, Tucson, Arizona business founded in 1992 as a direct-to-builder manufacturer of replacement windows and doors to the local trades. This was a significant change to the local door and window market as Tucson builders could now save money by purchasing directly from a local manufacturer instead of from a larger distribution center.
We manufacture and install our own brand of energy-efficient windows and doors, designed specifically for the extreme desert environment. We also offer our own trademarked brand of shatterproof STC/security windows: AMERISECURE by American Openings. All American Openings products are manufactured at our factory in Tucson, Arizona.
All Vinyl Windows by American Openings, described and pictured below, have been Energy Star certified and designed to keep you comfortable in the extreme desert heat. All American Openings vinyl windows and patio doors are manufactured at our factory in Tucson, Arizona. Pictured in White. Also available in Tan.
American Openings windows have been certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) who provides an independent assessment of the "whole product" energy efficiency rating of the windows that we build. Stay away from these guys. Dr Horton built our home using their windows and twelve years later 17 of our windows need to be replaced before we can sell the home. The rubber separator between the panes has bulged out and looks terrrible. They stated the defect was only covered for 2 years, so no help there, but they offered to charge us $75 to send someone out to measure for new windows!They appear to be building a subpar product, so not sure why they think I would buy more of them.

Nothing but good things to say about American Openings. Wife and I live in a 60 year old adobe house that leaks air like nothing else. We called AO to get a quote. The cool thing was they let us do one window at a time and haven't changed their rates in 2 years as we do them one by one. We initially did our bathroom window 2 years ago and didnt do anything until a few weeks ago..now we are doing one each month until we are done.
Pricing is great and since they are aluminum, not vinyl, I don't have to worry about cracking or warping.
Lead time is 2 weeks like another reviewer said.

Nothing to complain about, they did the job well and for a good price. If you live in Arizona, Tucson in particular, give these guys a call and have them put in a bid on your project, you'll probably like it.
Initial bid/sales process was pretty standard, their guy came out, measured the window and offered options. They can do pretty much whatever you want since they build all windows to spec, but are good at listening to what you are actually after and offering that. In my case, something very good at blocking heat and noise.
Their bid was much cheaper than other vendors. They were about 70
