I started my landscape career in 1994 while in high school, and worked for nine years in the industry before starting McDonough Landscaping, Inc. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis on Landscape Design and Management.
Our design/build landscape company is prepared to help our clients with a variety of projects, from small planting beds to large outdoor living spaces. We offer creative designs, custom installation, and exceptional customer service. Whether you are looking for a planting and garden makeover, paver patio designs, or an entire yard renovation, our experienced and highly trained staff have you covered.
We love meeting clients at our "outdoor showroom"! We will schedule a time for you to come by and review different materials, options, and to experience a variety of installations including outdoor cook-spaces, seating, surfaces, and landscape options. We take the time to listen to your ideas, wants, needs and budget, then we make suggestions on how to best move forward and complete your project.
If you want to enhance the aesthetic value of your home and yard, McDonough Landscaping can provide the professional landscaping services you need. The installation of the softscapes, such as trees, shrubs, perennials or planting beds are what bring all of your outdoor elements together. Our experienced designers can recommend the right plant material for your site, and we warranty the plants we install for one year.
McDonough Landscaping will only use top quality materials for your patio, walkway and driveway. We specialize in installing interlocking pavers, and our certified installers will construct a patio, walkway or driveway that will last. We also are experienced with installing natural stone, block, brick, loose materials and tile.

I have absolutely nothing to say about McDonough Landscaping that isn't superlative. They did an outstanding job on our yard, including plantings, sod, edging, and a paver patio. The crew was excellent in their work and demeanor. Matt is extremely knowledgable and was patient and informative in addressing any questions that arose. We would absolutely use them again and heartily recommend them to anyone needing landscaping services.

We recently had McDonough Landscaping replace our 900 square foot paver patio. Andy created the design and Matt and his fabulous team brought the plan to life. Matt was very informative throughout the entire project. We met several times to pick out products and go over the plan in detail. Matt verbally explained and also illustrated exactly what his team would be doing and the products they would be using. Matt gave us a timeline for the project which helped with our expectation of the completion date. I can't express enough how professional and hard working the McDonough team is. Every night

We had to use another contractor to finish our small project. A very bad experience overall. There are plenty of other contractors in the area that are far more customer focused. If for some reason you go with these people, pay very close attention to what Matt is agreeing too. If / when he underestimates the project it will be on you not him.
What we hoped to be a fun experience enhancing our yard environment ended up being a very negative

We moved into new construction back in 2013 and Matt's advice on how to allocate our budget paid off big time. The landscaping and sidewalk his guys did helped our home get top dollar when we sold last year, but to this day I cannot believe how good the lawn looks. These guys set us up for success and years of compliments.

I’m so glad that we chose to work with McDonough Landscaping for our project this spring. Matt was very responsive and thorough in his planning and advising, and the crew members were all professional and accommodating. I especially appreciate how quick everyone was in their communication, and that the job was completed in such a timely manner. We are so pleased with the work that Andy and his crew did at our house. The crew worked hard, were polite and did quality work. Our job wasn't all that big but they still treated us like an important customer. Not only are we happy with the results but many of the neighbors have also commented on how nice everything looks.

I can't say enough about how happy I am with the work McDonough did for me. My house is brand new and, while the developer did put in a basic landscape package, the backyard was basically sod with a single tree. McDonough prepared designs and did the installation of a beautiful new patio and stairs down to the patio from the existing deck, as well as new trees and landscaped islands. We've used McDonough Landscaping 3 or 4 times. Our projects are never that big, but they've done a great job in each thing they've done for us. Their crews are extremely courteous and they do a professional job.
Andy is also an absolute pleasure to work with. He's creative and if you don't have a clear and concise idea of what you want, he comes up with ideas that fit into your budget. Not to also mention he also communicates extremely well so you always know what's going on.
