Services
Edelweiss Wood Flooring was born in Switzerland in 1995 as a dream of Reto & Marie Gamweger. Reto was a trained furniture maker and Marie an American transplant in Zurich. They discovered wide plank engineered flooring in Europe and they saw an opportunity to introduce it in the United States where solid "sand and finish" wood flooring was used exclusively.
Edelweiss has partnered with Schotten & Hansen for close to 20 years. In that time we have seen the company become an industry-leading and design forward company. Their traditional German woodworking techniques coupled with advanced technologies result in a refined product that highlights the natural beauty of the wood.
Edelweiss has seen many trends come and go. Heck, we probably started many of them. Working with home owners, designers, architects and builders for over 20 years we have a deep understanding of what it takes for a project to be successful. Edelweiss has the partners, products and understanding to create your vision.
Adler uses cutting edge production technologies to create high performance flooring that also feels good to be around. They strive to highlight the original look of the wood using authentic colors and oiled surfaces. They believe these natural finishes allow the wood to continue to live and breathe over time.

John-Michael and Christine have been such a pleasure to work with. They were able to show us many different types of flooring within our budget and were able to come up with flooring that both my husband and I loved. We were renovating an old cabin, so did not want anything that looked too modern but also wanted the floors to complement the newly updated kitchen. Edelweiss (John Michael and Christine) are amazing to work with. They worked with us to figure out the best material and showed us a number of different installations. They were VERY EASY to work with. We aren't local so it was reassuring knowing they were working with our installers to ensure it was done correctly. They have high integrity, which is reassuring when making a significant investment in your property. Overall, they exceeded my expectations and I would use them again without hesitation.

We love our new Hickory floors! We selected hickory because it’s the hardest toughest wearing with our large dog and his large paws, and added an Edelweiss touch with custom milled circle saw texture for a reclaimed look. Install, stained and finished by my talented husband, his first ever floor. I’ll post again once we’re fully done with all new doors and trim!

We purchased the wood flooring for our new apartment in Telluride from Edelweiss and were beyond pleased with the product. The flooring is even more beautiful than what it looked like in the pictures on their amazing website. We live in Florida so all was done remotely and John Michael and Christine were very helpful throughout the choosing, ordering and delivery process of the material. They even arranged for the installation of the floor in our unit. We would highly recommend Edelweiss Wood Flooring!

The advice we received on a sound barrier was extremely helpful and worked well
John Michael is very knowledgable and when our floor needed to be sanded down, due to a housekeeping error regarding the care of the floor he stepped in an provided us with great advice.
John Michael was able to provide contacts for professionals to provide services regarding the installation, maintenance, and refinishing of our floor more than 10 years after we purchased it from him.

We bought our flooring from Edelweiss - they listened to our needs and wishes and delivered an excellent product. We recently needed help to repair our stairs as we dropped some heavy equipment on them and had deep scratches. After just a quick call, Edelweiss immediately helped and organized the required material as well as recommended a trusted carpenter to fix our flooring.
