It is amazing how time fly's. I started in the green industry 35 years ago in 1984 after having previously worked in the restaurant industry. I have always enjoyed being outdoors, so this was a natural fit for me. After having worked for a national lawn care company for 7 years and gaining as much knowledge as possible, I felt the time was right to start my own business in 1991.
Just like no 2 people are alike, neither are 2 lawns. Some need more attention, some need less. When it comes to feeding your lawn, the products that are used are best suited for the turf in our area, also called the "Transition Zone". Typically, that means Turf Type Tall Fescue, Fine Fescue, Bluegrass and Perennial Rye grasses.
Slit seeding is done by using a machine with steel blades that spin at a high rpm and slice through the turf and into the soil. The narrow slits are approximately deep and as the seeder moves forward, the seed is dropped into these narrow slits. Best results occur when you run the machine in two different directions at a 90 degree angle to your first pass.

As the 2021 season approaches I (along with everyone else) am glad to see the New Year upon us. Let's hope it turns out to be much better than last, and that the virus eases and finally goes away. Thankfully, I am not stuck inside otherwise I would've jumped off a bridge by now. This upcoming season will mark my 31st year in business.
