Bob and Peggy built the business to a point where, in 1974, they needed more room. A new building was erected at 4095 West 11th Ave. In 1986, the Ashmore family sold the business to Gordon McGraw. The company, at that point, had six full-time employees and was just coming out of the serious recession of the early 1980's.
As building began to increase, more installers were hired and, in 1990, Gordon purchased property of 1.4 acres with an existing building. The 1990's continued with growth and yet more installers were hired and trained. This growth included an increase in security related products, such as automated gate and entry systems.
Needing even more room, an additional building was built on the 7th Place property in 1997. This building, at 2090 W 7th Place, is where Overhead Door is today. The Next Generation, Katie Schnider, Paul Burrell, Chris Schnider and Sara Burrell completed the purchase of the OHD Company in March of 2013.

Great service, efficient communication, and seamless install of quality doors. We have had great service for bay doors, garage doors, and gate opening systems. Overhead door has done everything possible to deliver on time for us. They have been quick to resolve maintenance issues and even offered to program all of our remotes.

I am a property owner in Lane County, I live in Portland. I was very clear with Alan that I wanted new doors installed with door openers as we have been remodeling the entire property and updating. I scheduled my install and asked to be on a cancellation list because we had scheduled the exterior painting. We actually got a call that they could fit us in sooner which was nice but they installed doors with no openers and they only open from the inside. My tenant (rightfully) complained and I called them and asked why they had not been installed with openers. Alan told me that he does a lot of jobs
