Services
The Yard Guy began as a leap of faith for the Mariner family back in 1996. They owned and ran the business until the last couple of years when the Grate family took over the Ocean Pines route and Hank Mullins took over the other part of the business. The Yard Guy and The Yard Guy of Ocean Pines are operating out of the business that the Mariner family built up and are expanding upon that.
The Yard Guy offers commercial mowing contracts on a yearly or multi-year basis. We can handle most any size job including housing developments for home owners associations, rental homes, condos, apartment buildings and retail locations. We specialize in athletic fields for schools and sports clubs and also offer irrigation maintenance.
The Yard Guy is equipped to handle the unique and specific requirements of mowing athletic fields. The Bermuda turf, that is typical of most athletic fields in this area, requires frequent mowing with specialized equipment to achieve that manicured, professional appearance athletic clubs and schools want.

After three years, I fired this company. Nonstop complaints about the condition of the yard from renters of my OC beach house. I have a picture of a weed that grew 8 feet tall in a planted bed, flopped over into the yard and the mowers just went around it over and over --instead of doing the obvious, which would have been to PULL IT OUT!
As an out of town owner, I relied on this company to keep my yard nice. Clearly, that was asking too much.
They NEVER edged, barely trimmed, and never picked up trash that blew into the yard. They would then mow over the trash and then trash would be everywhere

Beware if you decide to do business with these people that you may get charged for work that was never done. They billed us for mowing our lawn one week, when in reality, it was never mowed. On the day the work was supposedly performed, two people were home the entire day and the lawn had obviously never been touched. There was no question about it. However, when we called about it, they said it was checked off as being done that day, which is unequivocally false, and basically called liars.
