It's hard for me to recommend that you use RM Schmidt for your HVAC needs. It started out reasonably well, but the new install didn't hold the coolant. They came out a couple times, but never successfully found a leak - just dumped in more refrigerant and told me sometimes you need to "top it off." (Subsequent HVAC techs have told me that's a load, so I don't know). Eventually, they admitted they should have replaced the coolant lines between the outside unit and inside. So, they did and on their dime, which I do appreciate. This held up for a while, but then the

So, I talked to the guy from Arundel Cooling and Heating about replacing the offending air conditioner and, according to him, what often happens is that the installer fails to replace the feed lines while switching from the old style to the new style refrigerant. According to him, even if the line is flushed out thoroughly, there is still enough in the system to interact with the new refrigerant, thus producing an acidic product that eats away at the system and eventually causes leaks. So, if this is correct, the leakage problem was thoroughly preventable with the expenditure of a few extra dollars
