The Mel/Arch team brings exciting and innovative yet practical design to Fort Worth. Today while taking drone footage at site of this unique cabin designed for our family, I realized, because Mel/Arch was able to marry what we wanted, creatively utilizing the sloped site, we have a cabin we will enjoy for generations! I have now done 3 projects with MEL/ARCH and Jason Beane. Easily one of my favorite people to work with through the development process of our restaurants. It only took one meeting to realize that MEL/ARCH studio’s capacity and talent far exceeded the 4 other architects I had interviewed. I have been continually impressed by the attention to detail, follow through and ability to balance client desire with incredible design. My project is not ready so I have not had the opportunity to work with Mel/Arch, but I plan to. They have a great attitude, even with a prospect who is unsure about many of the project details, which they have helped with immensely. I hired Mel/Arch to work on a complete residential build because of his apparent interest in using non-standard materials. His first design concept was so off base that I was surprised that it was the result of the long hours I spent with him explaining the requirements of the project. I gave him another chance and his second design concept was even worse. When I specified the problems with his designs and expressed my concerns about how the project was going, he told me that I would need to record the requirements in the meetings with him and then give them to him.
