Hello, my name is Kevin Olson and I am the owner of K. Olson Construction out of Scandia, MN. I have been in the remodeling business since 1985 & became a licensed contractor in 1995. We build new homes, kitchen's, basement finishes, decks, finish carpentry, custom stairs & railings, also specializing in room additions & home remodeling.
I am an on site contractor doing most of the remodeling - carpentry work myself with the help of a great group of sub contractors. Having a good plan & attention to detail is what makes my projects successful. Having been in the business 28 years now I have learned that being on site to deal with all the issues of remodeling is the key to any successful project.

When it comes to building your dream home, we will handle the entire process. We will build your home with your plans and your lot, or we can assist with drafting services and construction financing. With today's down market, many are looking to add to their existing home, and a room addition is a great option.
The first step in the remodeling process is to discuss with the client their ideas over the phone or in person. At this time we will ask some questions regarding their building needs such as, scope of work, square footage, style and age of existing house, approximate budget, & do they have any blue prints yet.
There are many new products on the market today geared toward "green building" and There is a growing demand for green building options and energy efficient products. In the construction industry there are many opinions on this topic. I have found that a common sense approach to this idea can make it quite simple, for example, spray foam insulation in a new home or addition will greatly reduce heating and cooling cost.
We feel very lucky to have found K. Olson Construction to remodel our basement & add a bedroom & bathroom. Kevin worked with us to develop a plan that exactly met our needs. He was always very professional & easy to work with. We found him to be honest, trustworthy & reliable. As our contractor, he made sure the project flowed smoothly & painlessly.
