The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an exotic beetle that was discovered in southeastern Michigan near Detroit in the summer of 2002. The adult beetles nibble on ash foliage but cause little damage. The larvae (the immature stage) feed on the inner bark of ash trees, disrupting the tree's ability to transport water and nutrients.
The Emerald Ash Borer probably arrived in the United States on solid wood packing material carried in cargo ships or airplanes originating in its native Asia. Since its discovery, EAB has killed hundreds of millions of ash trees in North America and caused regulatory agencies and the USDA to enforce quarantines and fines in Pennsylvania to prevent potentially infested ash trees, logs or hardwood firewood from moving out of areas where EAB occurs.
The Emerald Ash Borer has cost municipalities, property owners, nursery operators and forest products industries hundreds of millions of dollars. Shull's Tree Service will be happy to provide a free estimate to help you determine if your trees have been infested by the Emerald Ash Borer.

Services
In 1966, he had the good fortune to work for Acer Tree Services which was owned and operated by Mr. Marsico. For the next ten years, Ed learned "the craft" and realized his calling in life. Shull's Tree Service was founded in 1976. From one truck, one chipper and small crew of two employees, Ed Shull began his business and made a commitment to provide only exceptional residential and commercial tree service.
Trees surrounding your home can be a beautiful asset or they can be dangerous, or even a threat to life if not properly cared for. Even trees, which to the untrained eye look perfect, can have hidden cavities and insect infestation. Regular check up and trimming by a professional can help to control these problems and keep your trees in good health.
Oftentimes, trees need to be removed because they have become a hazard or have become unhealthy and are in a declining state. Selective tree pruning is the process of removing undesired branches from a tree for safety, health, aesthetics and other considerations. Shull's Tree Service provides snow removal services for residential and commercial customers in Dauphin and surrounding counties.

Positive: Punctuality, Quality, Value
Very efficient and professional. We had 2 trees and stumps removed, they cleaned up everything and left our yard free of limbs and debris. The crew had to use our neighbors yard for access and used mats under the truck tires so as not to damage their lawn. Will definately use their service again.

I was very pleased with Shull's tree service. Response was immediate, price was very reasonable, and work was done next day. I will definitely be calling again when the need arises!
Just an update... I called Shull's tree service again for a bigger project and again, I was impressed with the response, as well as the quality and very reasonable price! I will continue to consider them my "go to" tree service. I highly recommend.

We had Shulls out to trim 10 Bradford Pears and remove 2 junipers - including grinding the stumps. Our biggest fear was that the 10 Bradford Pears would look really bad - all hacked up and butchered. But NO!
The guys did a great job. You can tell the were trimmed but they don't look hacked up at all. Very nicely shaped. On top of that, they did a GREAT job cleaning up. The largest piece of branch I found was about the size of a quarter and only about half an inch long. And there was only one of those.
They did a nice job cleaning up after the stump grinding, too.
We couldn't be more pleased

This is at least the fourth time we have used Shulls. The crew was superb. They were professional, friendly and very competent. Five huge pine trees and a holly tree were cut down and removed. The stumps were ground away and everything raked up neatly after the logs were hauled away. It took a day and a half. There aren’t enough stars to give for this kind of service!

I asked for someone to contact me for an estimate of tree work that I wanted done. I submitted a form from their website with no response. I called their office and left a voice mail - again no response. I am disappointed that they could not just say so if they did not want the job. I have dealt with them before and was happy with their work. Guess something has changed.

I have not used their services personally but I have referred my real estate clients to them for estimates on tree work and Shuill's has always been prompt in accommodating my clients (even during very busy times in the season). I most certainly would recommend and use them for services as they demonstrate professionalism and care.

Shull’s Tree Service is extremely timely and professional! They came out to give me a quote on the same day I inquired about receiving one and came to cut down our huge dead pine tree earlier than we expected! Very pleased with the service and price we received! I would recommend this company over and over again!

If you are looking for a reasonably priced tree service, look no further. Shull's did one heck of a job cutting my dead sugar maple down. We agreed for them to just cut the tree down and I would do the clean up. The gentlemen was fast and proficient with even piling the branches up as to make it easer for me to clean everything up! He was also extremely friendly and out going. Couldn't have had a better experience.

Do not recommend. I signed paperwork, confirmed they received, waited two weeks reached no contact, I called twice to get a date of when they could do service. We had a date confirmed and they were a no show. I called again to see what happened, they apologized, and we rescheduled. They did a poor job, not what was quoted. We had them come back out and still didn't get it right, just removed a few branches from five trees, no shape up or trimming. We gave up and figured they weren't capable. They were the cheapest/best price out of quotes provided, but I'd have rather spent
