Since most of our clients never see our facility and offices, we thought it might be nice to give you a quick look at the Peterson Painting facility. Since 1969, the Peterson family has been serving the Des Moines area by building relationships. Cary's father, Bob Peterson, was the first in his family to go to college and worked his way thru Drake University in the 1960's painting homes in the Drake area and South of Grand.
Painting is labor intensive, time consuming, and potentially dangerous. To do it well requires preparation, the right tools, skilled labor, and a solid education about the different products, surfaces, and techniques involved. Peterson Painting is an experienced, qualified Iowa painting contractor, and we are licensed and insured.

Decisions to hire are based on the following: skills, ability to perform the job, prior employment, references, willingness to accept offered hourly wage and personal interviews. Remain on file for 90 days.
Some people are surprised by the number of historic places in our great state of Iowa. According the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, Iowa has over 2,000 registered historic properties - and that's the ones that have been officially placed on the register! Historic architecture and buildings are wonderful resources that need proper care and preservation.

David and his crew were phenomenal. The entire process from quote (with Cary), to scheduling (with Cheryl), to the actual painting (with David and Ryan) was very thorough and professional. I have never worked with a company that cares so much about the quality of their work and it shows in the end results. Everyone I worked with was communicative, thoughtful, responsible, and just overall good people. What could have been a stressful experience (changing the exterior paint color on a 100 year old home) actually ended up being quite enjoyable. I would definitely use Peterson's again for any future

Brandon and his crew did a beautiful job on the exterior of our home. His crew’s attention to detail was extraordinary, nothing went unnoticed - to caulking each nail hole in the siding (on the entire exterior!) to making sure enough siding was replaced so we wouldn’t have any problems with water.
Jeanette came out to help choose the most beautiful color combination - it is perfect!
Thank you for making what can be a stressful ordeal a true pleasure!

We had Peterson Painting tackle our first floor, which had knockdown on both the ceilings and walls. I was very happy with the friendly and personable service we received from Dave and his crew. They did an excellent job and also had us check for and came out to remedy any touchups that needed to happen. Administratively, they were also really easy to work with and responsive when I had questions. I'd recommend them to people in the area. If we decide to do our basement or upstairs in the future, we'll be using them for that as well. Thanks, we love the outcome!

I wouldn't recommend this painting company. Employees are very rude when asked to redo an area that clearly wasn't done properly. Shouldn't have to point out a problem like that with a "professional" painting company. Paint lines from one color to another are wavy and could be better. 1st and last time I use them.

We have had Peterson Painting to our house several times and they always do a great job. They communicate well and their work is done well. We are very happy. Most recently we had them paint the exterior of our home in a new color. We worked with Jeanette on color choices, and she gave us great advice. We have received lots of compliments on it. Peterson Painting was the second-highest bid of my four bids. However, I needed to paint a historical 97-year old Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Des Moines, on Grand Avenue. I couldn't afford mistakes. The gentlemen who painted my house were courteous and professional. They offered suggestions, which was imperative to a woman painting a historical property in four different colors on the exterior. Bottom line- you get what you pay for, and you cannot do better than Peterson Painting, if you have a historical exterior paint job!
