Petra Construction Corporation has been delivering client satisfaction for over half a century. Petra Construction Corporation was founded by Guido Petraiuolo. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1946, Mr. Petraiuolo worked as an X-Ray technician. Deciding that he would prefer to perform physical, outdoor work, he changed jobs and worked for a homebuilder as a carpenter apprentice.
In 1953, he decided to start his own company. Over the years, the company provided residential, light commercial and architectural woodworking services in the greater New Haven area. Mr. Petraiuolo consistently demonstrated his aptitude for esthetics and design. He had a remarkable work ethic and a deep-seated understanding of excellent customer service.
Many of his customers became his friends. Many of those same qualities were passed on to his son and current owner, Guido Petra. As a youth, Mr. Petra worked alongside his father for many years.

The construction was very difficult, as we had to maintain patient traffic throughout the construction period. Your workers were extremely flexible and worked around us, maintaining a safe and patient-friendly environment in spite of the magnitude and complexity of the construction and the tight space.
The renovation project was completed in an extremely timely and professional manner, with very little disruption to our business. We especially appreciated the constant coordination and communication between Petra, the architect, sub-contractors, building management and ourselves. The historic former Westport Bank & Trust Company building, built in 1924, was converted for retail and office use.
