Note: Remove metal, plastic, or nylon "gliders" from the legs and put soft floor protectors on the flat surface. Floor Protectors will need to be changed periodically. Check them periodically to make sure they are clean and free of any sand or dirt particles, which can scratch the floor. If you are moving furniture around the room, make sure you use felt gliders or some other fabric to protect the wood.
Mark and his crew did a great job at a low cost. My hardwood floors had a thin layer of old black, glued down rubber padding that I thought would never come off and thought that the wood wouldn't look good. When the project was complete the harwoods looked beautiful and was worth getting done. I would recommend Mark for hardwood floors for anyone who likes great customer service and a knowledgeable staff.

I was more than happy with the service provided by Barrett Hardwoods. Mark was professional, reasonably priced, clean, and turned my disaster hardwood floors into works of art. I made an attempt to refinish my own floors and turned them into a mess. Mark not only fixed what I did but made them even nicer than they had been. All within 3 days. I promise you will not be disappointed by this business!

Mark Barrett and his whole crew are the paragon of professionalism and efficiency. They provide accurate and faithful schedules and estimates. By now they've restored and refinished nearly every floorboard in our home to immaculate condition. I'd hire them again without reservation if there were any more floors to work on! I would give no stars if I could. We got a quote from them to refinish and custom stain our floors with a guaranteed work time of 1 week. They wound up taking an entire MONTH.Showed up to promptly sand the floors the first week; after they were done sanding asked for half of the balance which we foolishly paid. They then proceeded to not show up for an entire week. A week later they showed up and worked for one day, then didn't come back for another week. We had to threaten to report them to BBB, and then the owner sent two factotums to finish the work in one day. Thank goodness we hadn&apos

I would not be able to recommend Barrett Floors to anyone. They came to do 2 things - tear out some old flooring, replacing with matching hardwood and then to strip and refinish the whole area. While, I will say that the new flooring is a great match, the refinishing job is way below acceptable. The whole things feels like sandpaper, there are grains of sand that you can flick off with your fingers and there are dog hairs in places under the finish. On top of that, the center area was definitely only given a base and one finish coat instead of 2. Mark sent his guys back to fix the problem

Workmanship was terrible you can see drips of lacquer that was never sanded and other areas that were never lacquered and feel like sand paper. The small install at the bottom of the stairs that the owner himself did is awful as well. It needs to be fixed but I will be calling another company to do the repairs. Such a disappointment

I can't speak highly enough of Mark Barrett, owner of Barrett Floors, and his staff. I first met Mark and his team 5 years ago when I bought a multifamily house in Providence. Being new to the area at the time and new to building management and renovation finding qualified, professional contractors who stick to their pre-job estimates was a stressful process. Mark brought real integrity to the process, didn't exceed his bid for the project, and threw in some extra work to get the job done perfectly without charging me additional money.

When I originally purchased my home, I had wall to wall carpet covering hardwood floors. When I removed the old carpet, I discovered pet stains from the previous owner. Mark Barret and Barrett Hardwood Floors were not only to restore the hardwood floors, but were able to apply a dark enough stain so that the pet stains were no longer visible. Six years later and I still receive compliments on my floors.
