The vision began in 2012 when architects Paul Donaldson and Ryan Robinson felt a quiet revolution coming on. The two Texas Tech University graduates had young families at home and, at the same time, were passionately focused on designing innovative communities for the nation's growing senior population.
As they designed residences for aging adults they also started taking stock of how they were spending the most productive years of their own lives. They had reached a career crossroads and seized the opportunity to make a big change in how they practiced architecture.
Already, Paul had invested more than 20 years of his professional life specializing in senior housing design for a firm that had become part of one of the world's 10 largest architecture practices.Ryan had worked alongside Paul for 15 of those years. Both were ready to build a practice that brought balance to work and home life while also generating transformation in the global field of senior housing.

Services
The processes of planning and design largely determine the success of PRDG's award-winning projects. They set the foundation and tone for addressing the needs of senior living residents and staff. Developing cost-effective, innovative solutions to those needs and designing a comfortable residential environment fulfills our clients' vision and goals.
PRDG Senior Living Architecture is wholly owned by four partners: Managing Director, Paul Donaldson, AIA, LEED AP; Operations Director, Ryan Robinson, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C; Financial Director, Alice Donaldson; Marketing Director, Leah Robinson. Texas A&M University alumna Kathryn Busch and Gordon Gilmore from The University of Texas, because of their superior talent and long-time careers in architecture, have earned Principal status at PRDG.
All work and no play is a grind. PRDG's more than 30 team members (average age 36) know creativity and productivity are borne out of a work smart/play hard philosophy of collegiality. What started out as a tight-knit team of seven professionals in 2013 today numbers more than 30. Our planners, architects, project managers, designers, and support staff are at work on senior living communities in more than 14 states, with more adding monthly.
PRDG team members invest our time, talents and financial resources to help change people's lives for the better. Through giving back to our communities we make them better while also enriching our own lives by caring for others. At Habitat for Humanity we build. We build because we believe that everyone-everywhere-deserves a healthy, affordable place to call home.
PRDG was built on successful, win/ win relationships. We are happy to align ourselves with likeminded creative thinkers that value changing the lives of senior residents and creating great architecture. Please read about some of our valued industry partners and friends that have contributed to our success and helped us build our reputation as leaders in the senior housing industry.
