Landon Bone Baker Architects
Landon Bone Baker Architects (LBBA) is a Chicago-based architectural practice established in 1987 that is distinguished by its community-based approach. An innovative leader and hands-on champion of affordable housing and neighborhood planning, LBBA believes good design should be available to all.

Together with clients and community stakeholders, LBBA co-creates inventive, inviting, and sustainable spaces and places that transform lives, revitalize neighborhoods, and regenerate cities.LBBA has been working with Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) for over 25 years to transform empty lots and rundown buildings into safe, decent housing close to schools, parks, and other services.

Together, we have built and. The Carling Hotel was an existing 155-unit single-occupancy hotel that was preserved for low-income residents in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood. It is one of 65 remaining licensed SROs in Chicago and was the first SRO sold under the 2014 SRO.
Services
When Peter Landon founded Landon Architects in 1987, he was on the front line of social change. Rather than focusing on high-end homes, he intended to design housing for segments of the population generally overlooked-individuals and families whose economic status dictate their lifestyles and surroundings, and who generally don't have the luxury of choice.
LBBA has been working with Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) for over 25 years to transform empty lots and rundown buildings into safe, decent housing close to schools, parks, and other services. Together, we have built and renovated over 175 units of affordable housing in Humboldt Park.
This belief has guided our practice for over 30 years. As gentrification in Chicago swept northwest and pushed affordability southwest, the goal of providing architecturally significant, yet affordable options to as many people as possible expanded. Founder and Principal of Landon Bone Baker Architects, Peter Landon is known for his community-based inner city planning, development, and design work.

I used to work for an agency who managed properties for Landon Bone Baker. Their projects are impressive. Some things that stuck out to me were the architecture of the HVAC system and the quality of the front and rear porches. Kudos for following Housing Quality Standards.

Team of experts lead by world class architectural standards with eye for perfection and fine details. We had 2 projects successfully completed with the Landon Bone Baker and we are just staring on a third. My entire organization is very excited by proposed plan and schedule and we can’t wait to see results this time around.
