Recognized as one of Arizona's top designers, Susie Hersker specializes in luxury residential interior design. She offers a full range of services space planning, materials specifications, furniture selection and placement, custom furniture design, and art consultation. Knowledge and expertise gained from her career of more than 35 years enables Susie to assist clients with new construction, remodels and furnishings projects.
Situated on a mountain ledge above a golf course, this single-level home is comfortable for our clients and spacious enough to host gatherings with family and friends. Our clients desired a low maintenance, one-level home with elegant touches, durable surfaces, and casual sitting areas which could accommodate both large and small groups.
Beautiful natural materials make this modern Arizona home warm and inviting. Mahogany cabinetry, large format limestone floors, quartzite counter tops, wood ceilings, bronze accents, and hand-plastered walls create a quietly powerful, colorful background. The two-toned interior doors have a distinctive metal detail mimicking the soaring arched ceiling which is supported by stone columns and exposed steel beams.
Surrounded by vineyards, this weekend retreat offers panoramic views of the Napa Valley and surrounding hills. Our clients requested a color palette reflecting the vibrant autumn colors in the vineyards. The powerful contemporary architecture incorporates large doors and windows, and an enormous skylight follows the entire length of the main living area.

Susie and Elaine design on a whole other level. I can just get lost in the details of their projects. If you haven’t had a chance to ogle their work, go ahead and open the Design Directives portfolio to enjoy a true treat. I’m honored to have been collaborating with them since 2015. In all of these years, their new projects are consistently jaw-dropping. They are highly trained, experienced, professional, detail-oriented, on-time with presentations, creative yet tuned in to your style and vision of your home. We were designing a 10,000 square foot Spanish Colonial home nestled into the McDowell Mountain Range in north Scottsdale.
