It has now been 4 months of waiting for someone to come and fix our $60K worth of solar energy system in Novato after the issue was identified back in September. I repeat: " 4 MONTHS"!!!!! The system failed back in July 2021, so it has been a total of !!! HALF A YEAR !!! since the failure. The customer service chat told me that no customer ever have to wait for more than 2 months, and that's 4 months ago, so I am a record breaking customer here!!! Is there a way for me to post "0 Star" here at Yelp? I also own a Model S, which I now have to go out and get my free Supercharge

I filled out the online form to get solar panels, one of the first questions is what type of roof do you have. I selected TPO from the drop down menu.

Took over a month to get designs drawn up. I messaged the online chat through my account to find out what was happening, no one replied. 6 weeks later I got some designs and wanted to ask how the panels were attached to my TPO roof. Again no one replied to the chat through my account. I went in to a store and asked what was happening they said they'd try to send a request to the call center, I never had a reply.

You would think with a parent company like Tesla, that the customer service would be top notch. It is the absolute opposite! I originally submitted my order for solar panels and backup batteries in July and the installation didn't happen until October, now in January, my system is still not powered on. I understand that the permit process takes awhile, so I don't fault Tesla there, and same with the approval process with PG&E, however, there has been ABSOLUTELY no communication from my project coordinator regarding updates.

Going on a year and a half with still no install. Tesla Solar customer service and advisors are impossible to get a response from. They basically have no inbound service pre-install: you are 100% on their timeline and they will not document or really take into consideration your feedback until someone comes onsite and then it's back to the drawing board. Really crazy that something as simple as CRM and basic customer service is still not set up. I expected this to start getting better a few year ago, but it's actually gotten worse.

Tesla began installation our solar panels on November 8, 2021. That was the beginning of our nightmare. Instead of saving the planet, Tesla seriously damaged our house. Appliances and lights surging on and off repeatedly, smoke coming out of ceiling fans and surge protectors! Fried appliances! We were told by the electrician that he did not install a neutral line. I wonder if it was much more serious than that. Six weeks later we have been passed around to different Tesla people and are now talking with their insurance company who is telling us that they are NOT paying to replace our damaged

Customer service is terrible!
The system was installed but an issue with system communication has been gating power own for weeks with out any feedback from tesla.

No direct support line means hours on hold just to be told they will get back to you and never do

TLDR; Technicians FAILED TO ADD NEUTRAL to the electrical panel, causing voltage fluctuations and blew out appliances.

Scheduling the service is a nightmare. They did not treat a complete power shutdown as emergency and "the earliest service is 4 weeks out - reported Nov 30th, go Dec 22nd " - ridiculous.

I have Tesla Solar for over a year - that finally got installed/activated 5 months after initiating the application, needed 3rd attempt from city to approve

for over a year, working with no issues, but then suddenly all the lights start to flicker and appliances do the power-on

So maybe my solar roof will be a good thing but 5 months after I got my roof I still do not have power. There are many players-- but no one gets back to me. Their website is a big dodge--- no way to contact anyone, only automated responses.
Price was twice as much as initial estimate.
So wanted this to be a better experience.

Bad! Bad! Bad! After reading all of the reviews, I must go along and agree with their sentiments.

I have two properties that have solar panels provided by Tesla on them, and it may be the worst decision I have ever made.... JUST based on their customer Service interactions.

Multiple times, the customer service has gotten my bills mixed up -saying that they were overdue, when actuality it was a Tesla mix up on applying payments to the correct system.

Bought 2 powerwalls and 13kw solar systen. Powerwall broke down after 6 months, took 2 months for service team to come and replace it. In between my electric bill jumped up and they don't care... Coolant leaks from under one of the inverters but they shrugged it off. I recommend you shop around and read reviews before purchase. Tesla Solar has 1 star review overall. Be cautious it seems most people get a lemon with crap service.

I was told at signing that it would be a $500 charge for them to remove the panels so a roofer can replace the roof. Then it would be another $500 charge to reinstall the panels after the work was performed.....that was not true at all. They want to charge me $4,000 to do this....that is half of the new roof cost.....THEY ARE THIEVES AND LIARS

I've had my panels and powerwall now for 2+ years, zero issues, and if you live In MA there are great programs for solar and powerwall called Smart and connected solutions that make the endeavor very profitable on top of federal and state tax incentives.

If considering a solar system please don't make the same mistake we did. We trusted Tesla.
This summer we purchased and had installed a solar system and Powerwall (battery backup) from Tesla. Unfortunately, Tesla failed to receive permission from our power company prior to its installation and the power company (Delaware Electric Coop) will not grant us permission to operate. Their reasoning is that the substation can not accept additional solar power. The current software for our system does not allow sending power to the grid. It runs our house or charges our power wall only. Yet we have

Do not and I repeat Do not do bussines with Tesla solar company , while I'm writing this I'm on hold with them for over an hour . Reason new agreemwnt been sent to me 6k over what I initially signed take it or leave it after 1 year of starting the project, I don't sign nothing move , I sign I pay 6k over initially signed document a year ago.

I just tried to spend $50,000 with Tesla on a battery back-up system and solar panels to no avail. I am a money is no object customer.

The sales process is completely computer guided. If you call the sales lines, you will find that you are continually referred back to the web site by the agent. This turned out to be a logical approach since the sales agents lacked basic knowledge of the systems they are selling. Even asking for a sample sales contract failed to achieve a result. Only way I could get a sales contract was to pay the $100 commitment fee and proceed with the full on sales process

Like many of the reviews I read, including my own, Tesla continues to treat its solar energy customers like dirt. We all have the same problem of virtually no service follow up. All the customer service people are wonderful and sympathetic, but there is nothing they can do to resolve the issues. We need to do two things. First (Californians), have to contact the Public Utility Commission and file a formal or informal complaint. Second, we need to figure out how there might be a class action lawsuit against Tesla. Most of us are limping along with systems crying for service and receiving nothing

I love my Tesla car, and therefore bought solar panels on lease with Tesla car. But was shocked to see the poor quality of service from Tesla... Why can't Tesla improvise on customer service is oblivious to me.

They can reach Mars, but can't provide a decent service to its customers here on earth?

I had huge expectations from Tesla, but it looks their customers service Head has abandoned the division for years or outsourced it to Comcast/AirBnB

That's the only explanation I can think why Tesla's customer service is so bad. Please buy Tesla energy product, if you can live

I'm located in Riverside County, California and I worked with a team of people from Tesla headed up by Cory Rokus from their Riverside office. Everyone I dealt with couldn't have been more knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

My problem was with my HOA who ran me through the mill for several months because they preferred that I use the local company that they had a working relationship with. Of course the same system from the local company was double the cost of Tesla. I had quite a fight with the HOA but Tesla stayed by my side the whole way, answering their questions and changing

I have been working with Antonio Brown and Richard Smith from Tesla. After an initial phone call with Antonio back on Jan 27, I have not heard from him since. I tried to reach out to Antonio and another assigned rep, Richard, with follow-up questions regarding my solar panel project. Neither of them responded to my 5+ phone calls/voice mails over the course of 4 weeks and numerous emails. I am dissatisfied with the unresponsiveness of these two Tesla reps.

I have 3 properties I am considering Tesla for solar but now I am doubting this decision. Has anyone else had similar negative experiences
