John L. Cook founded the company in 1928 as "North Alabama Termite Control" and provided its foundational integrity. After his death in 1950, his son John R. Cook felt compelled to honor his father's five-year termite guarantees - and gave up a promising career in architecture to help Cook's become America's eighth-largest pest control company.
John R. Cook was a Georgia Tech graduate who greatly advanced the science of pest control. In the early 1950s, he changed the company's name to Cook's Pest Control. John R. Cook added pest control service to the business and thus the name Cook's Pest Control was born. In 1965, a Huntsville, Alabama television station asked Cook's to sponsor a children's program.

Cook's employee Jim Kearney soon became "Cookie the Cop"-a character that was comical and friendly, yet personified the protection that Cook's provided its customers. Our technician Dennis was so professional and helpful. He was always just a phone call or text away, and he worked to make sure everything was done in a timely manner. When I first called I spoke with Becky who was so friendly and very on top of things. The gentleman that installed the Sentricon stations was also very professional and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend Cook’s!

This company is a joke. I called multiple times, and no one came out to even inspect my home. Than I was told that I didn't even need an inspection. All I wanted was service, but this company gives you the run round. Highly do not recommend this company to anyone!!!

The services actually work! Rarely do I get any kind of bugs in the house, and the mosquito service keeps everyone from itchy bug bites. Scott and John are always very professional and courteous. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for pest control!

The technician's communication before and during the appointment was perfect. They kept us advised of the arrival time, was extremely knowledgeable about the trade, and gave us a full description of the service before beginning and in a manner that was understandable. Answered all of our questions and gave us a summary of the observations after the service.

Dan is the one who always comes to spray my house. He is always professional and goes above and beyond to ensure we are taken care of. Dan is always just a phone call away if I ever have any questions or even when a see a strange bug and want confirmation it is not something to worry about he is there. You really do get great quality from Cook's!
