Schoonover Plumbing & Heating, Inc. was founded in 1947 by George Schoonover Sr, and was originally named Canton Plumbing, Heating, and Farm Supply Company. The company first made its home on Sullivan Street in Canton, PA until a fire forced them to begin their search for a new permanent location. In 1956, Schoonover moved into the newly constructed showroom and office on Main Street in Canton, PA.

If you live in or near Canton area MAKE SURE Schoonover is the business you go to for furnace repair! Very happy with my experience! The guy seemed genuinely nice and honest! They even have a very sweet receptionist lady. He explained everything the best he could and ACTUALLY looked over everything to make sure it was working properly.

They choose who they want to do repairs on people's homes. I called them 3 or 4 times . Once for frozen pipe. They wanted 175 to come out and 110 a hour afterwards. I called someone else they charged 50$. Last time I called for a water leak. They said they were 2 months out. I will never call them again. They are over priced and pick and choose if you are good enough for them to do the work.

Dave came out today to answer a service call for our breaker. While he was here he answered many questions about all of the home systems. He also gave us a pretty in depth tutorial on the thermostat. Our home is a new build so we have seen a few technicians. Dave took his time and made sure we had a better understanding of the inner workings of our home and was kind and professional about it. He didn't rush in and out of the house. I was very impressed! Thank You Dave!

Please do not ever use this company. I called them to repair my pulsating water and service my oil furnace. After an hour the serviceman said the water problem was with my well pump which he couldn't fix. He then serviced my oil furnace. All said and done, I had another company come out and discovered my water problem was actually with my tank after less than 10 minutes. Problem solved. Also, when I went to start my heat for the season, it wouldn't light. That serviceman didn't even bother to prime my furnace or even test it after changing the oil filter. I've been fighting over my bill ever since

We had several items that needed installed such as 2 mini AC units, and replumbing some gas lines so we can convert our water heater and stove to gas.
They worked very quickly, professionally and cleaned up after they were done. even installed our gas stove for us!

I’m surprised I haven’t rated this company yet since they been to our house a few times in the past to change faucet and toilets. They were good then and they are even better now, with an employee who have been with him for 6 years, which is remarkable for this kind of business. They are knowledgable, professional and the charge is reasonable. They just left, after about half a day of work and I was extremely satisfied. They are very trustworthy!

We needed electric baseboard heat installed in 3 bedrooms and a bathroom to close on a house. Schoonover’s worked with us (despite a difficult out of state seller) to quickly set up an estimate and get the rooms measured. The estimate was promptly sent to us. Despite this being the busy season for heating work, they fit us into their schedule when… the seller refused to extend the closing deadline and we only had a 2 week window to get heat installed and the house appraised.
