Services
Masterplanning is collaborative process that takes into context the fabric of the existing structures and environs as well as the educational program goals. Before the master plan can take place, a thorough assessment of the site's assets and existing infrastructure must be done in order to arrive at a starting point for the facilities portion of the master plan.
MLA is very familiar with the requirements and procedures of both The Division of the State Architect (DSA) and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). In addition to being familiar with current Title 24 codes and regulations, an Architect must also be familiar with the enforcing agencies having jurisdiction over the project type.
The first step in any design process will be to establish who the key stakeholders from the owner and user group are to provide necessary program information and who will be making the key decisions. MLA will work with the owner and site group to define program parameters in order to develop a successful project program.
Design and Construction oversight is the heart of an architectural practice. Realizing the built design that meets the goals of the owner and the site is the ultimate achievement of architecture. It is the Architect's responsibility to provide physical dimension and physical spatial definition to the owner's vision.
MLA has been involved in reviewing existing sites and facilities to provide assessments of their condition for both replacement value and project procurement purposes. Utilizing our expertise in the design and construction viewpoint, as well as our knowledge of the building codes, we can provide a benefit in assessing the condition of existing sites and buildings.
