In 1974, I was on a summer break from school looking for a job to help work my way through college. Don was working with his family doing wood floor sanding and finishing. We got together refinishing wood floors for the Chicago Public Schools. A Federal program was created to stimulate the economy and they provided the funds to the C.P.S for remodeling the old school buildings that had not been remodeled in decades.

I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his team.
He stepped in last minute and refinished /re stained our floors after our prior contractor cancelled on us last minute.
He gave us a great price and also squeezed us in his busy schedule since we were living without furniture and a pod in our front yard.
The 25 year old floors look brand new and fantastic. His team did a great job.

Not only do they do excellent new work, sand and finish existing and fix all sorts of little and large challenges, but they are the neatest and cleanest in my experience. I was in the business for about 30years before retiring. I found them about 10 years ago and wish I would have had them to work with from the beginning! They are truly amazing!

They have installed two oak floors for me over the past 14 years. First floor was in kitchen and I just used them for oak floor in my living room. Recently dealt with Wayne, who is president of the company. I wanted a Mirage floor since that was installed previously. He showed me a less expensive floor that he said was also a great floor option. I ultimately picked the Mirage because it held up so well over 14 years in my kitchen. He came and measured and installation was within 10 days. Installer was great and did a beautiful job. I can't recommend this company enough.

I took a long deciding what flooring to use and which company to use. I was remodeling my townhouse and decided to replace all the flooring while I wasn't living there. I got more than one quote and am very happy I chose the Hardwood Floor Store. They were incredibly patient with me and the delays I encountered at my townhouse, meaning they had my flooring materials for months while I got a leak sorted out, but I was never pressured in any way to set an installation date. On the recommendation from a Naperville carpet company we had the Hardwood Floor Store refinish the hardwood floors in our house. They also put an oak floor in another room that had been carpeted. This was about a year ago. They did a great job.
This past winter one oak board in the kitchen developed a gap that grew to be an inch wide where that board butted up to another board. This spring the gap showed no signs of closing so we called the Hardwood Floor Store.
Wayne came out today and determined which board was moving, pulled it back into the original position, closed the gap, and fastened

I used the Hardwood Floor Store 3 times. We pulled up carpets and they refinished the oak floors that had been under the carpets. The end result looked like it was newly purchased flooring. It continued to look great until the day we moved. We did something similar when we purchased a new house. They refinished the floors and stairs and we had beautiful floors at a fraction of the cost it would take to install new. Later we put on an addition and they installed new oak floors throughout the entire addition. We couldn't be happier with the result. I will use them again at my next opportunity

We have had the Hardwood Floor Store install two floors for us ten years apart.
First we had them put a oak floor in our house and they did an excellent job which included matching up with an existing floor. You could not tell where the old floor ended and the new floor began.
The second time we used them was in a condo that we had just purchased. We had them install bamboo flooring and they did an excellent job. A year later there had been a little bit of shrinkage in the floor which is not totally unexpected and they came back and fixed everything at no charge.
We could not be more happy with
