The Leonard Pavilion designed to serve Brookgreen Gardens growing private event needs allows immediate access to the gardens and sculptures and connection to the boat dock. The Pawleys Island Town Hall serves its community through a design that steps lightly into its surroundings. The design process focuses on a building that would be open to the island community and thoughtful of the historic structures that inhabit the island.
Material selection, orientation and efficient space planning guided the design. Rural Retreat is an exercise in re-use. Reclaiming an old structure and adapting it into a new life that will provide for many relaxing memories.
