Gibbs Lawn & Landscape
NW Metro residents know that maintaining a healthy lawn and landscape plants is an investment that beautifies your home and also adds to its value. You have invested a lot in your property, so maintaining your lawn and landscaping simply makes sense, because a vibrant green lawn and magnificent flowering shrubs really showcase the pride you have in your home.

Gibbs Lawn is a family owned and operated business that has been providing residential and commercial lawn and landscape services in the NW Metro area since 1955. Our original treatment programs were developed by founder Bill Gibbs, who became the first licensed applicator in the State of Minnesota.

Bill Gibbs worked with the University of MN in the 1970's to help diagnose and treat lawn diseases in a way that is gentle on the environment. Gibbs Lawn now offers homeowners programs that feature regularly scheduled lawn maintenance, fertilization, weed, insect and disease control, aeration, overseeding, shrub & tree trimming, landscape renewal, plus spring and fall cleanup.
Services
Application One: This is a dry, slow release fertilizer with pre-emergent herbicide. This product is applied in Spring. It promotes plant growth, green-up, and prevents the germination of some weeds including crabgrass. Application Three: This is a dry slow-release fertilizer that is applied in mid summer.
When should I water my lawn? Early morning is the best time to water. Turf needs 1 to 1-1/2 inches of water applied per week. Use a rain gauge to measure and adjust amount of irrigation as needed. Lawns growing in clay soils need to be watered once per week, while lawns growing in sandy soils need two applications per week.
We are thrilled to have found Gibbs Lawn. We have a heavily shaded back yard that has lots of bare spots and some areas with grass and weeds. Cathy (of Gibbs Lawn) came to look at our yard and upon seeing the backyard said, 'This is a great backyard. It's perfect for landscaping.' We decided to give Gibbs Lawn a try and see what could be done with our backyard.

This is a dreadful company. They guarantee to come back if you have weeds. I have called, left messages, emails over 10 times. The weeds are green and flourishing. I told them to call me or cancel me. They showed up and treated my lawn and billed me. I called and left a message that I will not pay until they call. No response for over a month.
I have used them for 30 years and the last 3 they have been horrible.
I will never use them again

We used Gibbs in the past and the gal who calls for reminders is very rude! Then would not show up on day they were suppose too. We paid for extra things for the yard and it didn’t do a thing. There product they used which was suppose to be organic burned my dogs skin so bad. Horrible customer service and workers always left my fence gates open.

If I could give negative stars I would give a negative 5!!! Two weeks before our daughters graduation party last summer they came out to treat our lawn and burnt all the grass in the front and back from over using chemicals. To make a long story short, a year later and it is still not resolved and there seems to be no interest in taking care of the problem. It is now going to cost us a lot to get it all fixed and a whole year. I don't think we want them near our yard to fix it as we don't trust them. Not only that but the customer service was just as bad as what they did to our yard. Stay as far

My lawn was a mess!! Lots of weeds and thin. Gibbs told me to be patient and give treatments time, told me how to water and mow correctly which I had no idea mattered as long as it got done. Started with them spring 2013. Last year my lawn looked great! I only had to reseed a couple areas where
it was mostly quack grass. The best thing is Gibbs did not push extra services I did not need and I have had that experience with other companies.

Stop taking credit for other people's work! These guys keep leaving signs on the lawns of our buildings stating "Lawn Professionally Serviced Today By: Gibbs Lawn & Landscape". We do the landscaping for the buildings using our own internal crew. The guys are getting pretty annoyed by this company using our work to promote themselves.

Long story short, if you see a property with decent landscaping and see their sign, chances are they may not have even done it!

I live in an apartment and came home one day to find a Gibbs lawn care sign in my lawn saying the lawn had been treated and to keep off until a specified date. I called the number listed to find out what was sprayed but only got the run around. After many calls I was finally put on the line with Kathy Gibbs herself, who was clearly antagonistic to my perspective that lawn chemicals are overapplied and potentially harmful. What's more, my observation of our lawn over 17 years is that the chemicals that Gibbs apply do nothing to make the lawn any healthier or more beautiful.
I can understand how

I called to ask them about some of their services, and described a problem I was having. The person on the phone said that they wouldn't be able to help, and was extremely dismissive. I was so turned off by the experience I came right here to write about it. They were not nice at all.

We wanted to give Gibb's an opportunity to service us. From day one it has not gone smoothly. Each time I called they were disorganized and our experience has been one negative experience after another. First, our bank account got charged $500+ twice for their yard care, then, their spring clean-up was lacking. They did not take the dead heads off our perennials, our hydrangea tree and the area under all of our pine trees was not cleaned. I called to complain and was told it would get taken care of. I asked for an estimate on having some additional work done and was told I'd receive an estimate
