Services
To understand how insulation works it helps to understand heat flow, which involves three basic mechanisms -- conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction is the way heat moves through materials, such as when a spoon placed in a hot cup of coffee conducts heat through its handle to your hand. Convection is the way heat circulates through liquids and gases, and is why lighter, warmer air rises, and cooler, denser air sinks in your home.

We received a number of different quotes for our rodent proofing, but by far Sean and Rachel had the most honest and fair bid. We chose them because Sean walked through everything that needed to be done and why. He was very through and completely trust worthy. His team worked quickly and did an excellent job. Had an appiontment for an estimate with Brick and Hammer to rock the ceiling of my garage today 7/16/21 between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. It's now after 2:00pm and no one has called or arrived. I had to message them on what's going on and was told their guy was in Livermore.
Frankly, this is not how I do business. If you can't show up the to sales estimate on time and you can't even call to inform the prospective customer that your people are running late, I have no belief that anything will happen on time or as committed.
Now it's 2:40pm and I'm getting repeated texts

I had a great experience with this team. Rachel was excellent at communication and making sure everything went smooth from start to finish. The team that came did a great job. They were efficient and made sure to give a step by step during the whole process and updates on timing. I definitely recommend and I have noticed a difference in the temperature of my condo since the insulation was installed.

I am so happy I chose to go with Brick & Hammer for rodent proofing and insulation. We just moved into our home and night 2 found out we had roof rats. You can imagine how not thrilled we were. I initially got 3 quotes, they were very reasonably priced, but their process is what sold me on going with them. The other companies said they'd do the job in one day but Brick & Hammer spreads it out over a few appointments because they want to make sure all the rats were gone before installing the insulation, which makes complete sense. Hire this company! When you hear HVAC your mind doesn't go to a professional snake wrangler* does it? No? Nor did mine.

I have to say, I am extremely happy with the customer service they provide. Sean wasn't satisfied with drywall and texture matching; although someone not looking for it wouldn't notice a difference-- he kept redoing it until he was happy. Sean and his team went above and beyond for us. We've been struggling with rodents in our attic for the past 5 years. Despite setting our own traps the furry creatures always seemed to come back. We finally accepted defeat and called Brick & Hammer for their help. My only regret is we didn't do it sooner! I rarely write reviews, however, Brick and Hammer (aka Mr. Attic) definitely deserves a shout out. My husband hasn't been very inclined to hire anybody for that matter to check out our attics and crawlspace for any living critters, even though I have mentioned several times that I have been hearing tiny footsteps above our bedroom ceiling. Brick & Hammer did a great job on our rat problem. They responded very quickly, did a thorough inspection and walked us through what was going on above and below our house. We hired them for abatement and new insulation and they were able to start the following week since our problem was pretty urgent. I found proof of rats under my house and freaked out! Thankfully I found Brick & Hammer to help me quickly. They found all the spots where rats could get in and sealed them up. 2 months later, still no rats. THANK GOODNESS. Seriously call them if you need help! Sean and the entire crew were fantastic! Their attention to detail and commitment to doing a great job are unparalleled! We had a long term rat infestation in our attic. They found and sealed the entrance hole, cleaned and sanitized the entire space, replaced all of the air ducts and insulation, allowed us to begin heating our home, and got rid of our ongoing willies :)

Can not recommend Sean and crew any more! He is super friendly and responsive. Not the type of guy to nickel and dime you. His prices were fairer than the other 2 quotes I got. And the service was great. He gave me honest advice. He told me where I could do some work on my own. If you're looking for someone you can trust, and not just someone that will give you a high cost quote-- call Sean at Brick & Hammer! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I'm so happy I found him. I will be contacting him in the future when I'm ready for more work.
