A hybrid home utilizes conventional stick-built construction to provide the super structure of the home. Typically, some degree of timber frame is also included in the construction. The timber frame is employed in specific areas of the home where "the wow factor" is most desired, such as in the great room, kitchen and dining areas.

We first started to work with NEH in 2017 when we selected a plan, and worked with their designer to modify it to our liking. We did not really know how it all worked, but we connected with the owner Robert Lambert, and he was a top notch professional who guided us and made the experience very memorable.
It took a while for us to move from design phase to move-in ready home, but now our Natural Elements designed custom home is 98% complete. The design fees were very reasonable when compared to architectural firms in the Hudson Valley, and the outcome is better than what we dreamed of.

Natural Elements is the manufacturer of beautiful log homes, small to large. They provide the materials (The logs, framing, windows, main structure of home.) You have to get a general contractor to complete the interior of home. They can generally refer a general contractor to you they have worked with before. Keep in mind when you build a log home these are custom homes even if they are smaller. You will spend roughly $200 to $240 a square foot to build the entire home, maybe more if you go with a very high-end larger model. We talked with them about 2 years ago and they said they would create a basic set of plans for a cabin. ($1,881 fee) They were more than willing to do a few modifications on their existing plans. Tim Snider helped and and we started with one and with the very first design, knew it would not work. We discussed a different floor plan with a few adjustments. They said no problem. We submitted the details - basic plan and pictures and explanations of modifications and were told no problem. Tim never attempted to actually follow through on what we submitted.

The homes are very beautiful. My husband and I drove from Chicago and called to tell them we were coming about 3 hours before arrival to make sure someone would be there to talk with us. We have both always loved the look of timber beams but had never had the time to seriously look into building a home with these beautiful beams.
We arrived at the Sweetwater TN models and met the salesman behind the desk. What an unfruitful and unpleasant experience. We were told how expensive these homes were to build. We expected they weren’t inexpensive to build because of the craftsmanship. We are expecting

We love our Natural Element Log Home. Our sales rep was aware of our budget and did a great job of helping us find the package that would allow us to meet our financial goals. We also chose a builder who listened to our concerns, helped us make intelligent finish choices, and we came in UNDER budget. I would do all again in heartbeat! GREAT experience with wonderful people.
