The two biggest challenges when refinishing New Jersey Hardwood Flooring are where do you put the furniture and choosing a color. I'm no help at choosing the color. I've been refinishing Hardwood Flooring in New Jersey since 2000 and I've done every color you can think of and at the end of the day, I like them all.
You can look at pictures online and you can see stain samples at Home Depot but when refinishing your hardwood floors, you need to have the sample colors applied on your floor and with at least one coat of clear finish. Once the hardwood floor is clean and clear, no furniture, and all the carpet, pad, tack-strip, staples, and nails have been removed we can get started.
We still hang plastic. Our machines all have vacuums and are the best in the industry and other companies will tell you its "dust-free" but that's not true. To us old guys it seems like it's dust-free because before the vacuum systems the house would be covered in dust. Now we are able to collect about 80% - 90% of the dust.

Doug and his assistant Anthony did a really nice job refinishing our very old floors. We were impressed with their attention to detail and good attitude.
We have a lot of unpainted baseboards and were nervous that they would get dinged up during the process but they all came out unscathed. We also had a few broken floorboards that they fixed up very nicely.
We thought the price was competitive but we went with Doug over our other quotes because he seemed very patient, thoughtful with his answers, and eager to help.
We would recommend Doug and his team to anyone!

From beginning to end it was a positive stress free experience. Professional, punctual, organized, neat, knowledgeable, reasonably price and quality work. Very helpful and patient to assist in deciding for color stain. Removed built in units in master bedroom and family rooms which needed repair on wood floors. Doug and Evin did a great job repairing hollow areas. Im extremely happy with my new refinished floors and highly recommend them. Will be calling back for continue business.

Princeton wood floors gave me a estimate via email and then came out for the in home consultation . I got 3 other estimates after i got the email quote from Doug and after speaking with the other contractors i felt Doug explained the process better and had a real passion for his work. So i went with princeton wood floors and my floors look better than i ever expected i know i made the right choice

I was looking for someone that could come and make my floors beautiful again - I needed them refinished with a different color and I also wanted to add matching wood to two rooms in the downstairs area of my house. Doug and his team provided quality work with excellent attention to detail. Our original hardwood floors were covered by carpet for about 15 years. Doug was able to come in and seamlessly blend any patchwork that needed to be completed as well as repair any dark spots. Our floors look amazing. I love that we are able to maintain the integrity of our classic home with our newly refinished original hardwood floors.
