Thank you for your interest in River Mill Woods. We are a family owned and operated business that began in 1988. The yearning to return to our home town of Marion, Kansas was realized when the opportunity to buy Daryl's boyhood home became a reality in 2000. Our company's name was derived from the old Ehrlich/Excelsior grist mill which still stands.
All of our furniture is built to provide many years of faithful service to you and your future generations. The difference between the construction of our pieces and mass-produced furniture is the satisfaction and peace of mind our work provides owners by knowing it will be used for years to come. By using quality products and employing impeccable workmanship, our professional team creates custom furniture to last a lifetime.
Mortise and tenon joints are used to fasten aprons to legs which are then pegged. A shaped glue joint is used to add gluing surface to the edges of the boards which make up the tops. Special fasteners are used to secure the tops to the framework which will allow the tops to expand and contract with seasonal humidity changes.
