The sun's thermal energy is used to heat pool water that is first pumped through a filter to clear debris, and then circulated through solar collectors, where it is heated before passing back into the pool. Solar pool heaters can be much more cost effective when compared to both gas and heat pump pool heaters due to extremely low annual operating costs.
Flat plate collectors work on copper pipes that run through a glass covered collector, and these are connected to a water storage tank. Tony at AMD Solar did our pool solar heating panels. Very knowledgeable, dependable and communicates very effectively. He was an excellent resource and expert in pool maintenance he even pointed out some things that needed our attention. As far as the panels, we have added almost 3 months to our swimming season at no monthly or annual cost after install. Manufacturer warranty included, definitely ask Tony if you are considering this alternative for pool heating. 5 stars

Tremendous company. We have a small enclosed pool, and wanted it warmer. After researching options on the internet, I gave AMD Solar a call, and they were great! Tony came out and evaluated our situation and discussed options for us. Right from the start we were on the same page. He gave me exactly what I had in mind, (for a great price by the way!) He knew he was a couple of weeks out for scheduling, and told me that upfront. But he kept me informed, and I never felt forgotten. Once we had an installation date set, not only was he there as scheduled, but he called the night before just to confirm

Tony Dicapo, owner of AMD Solar, was referred to me through the roofing company I used. Tony removed and replaced my 6 solar panels for my roof replacement due to the hurricane.
Tony has also done some repairs on the pipes that attach the solar system to the pump system of my pool due to leaks and more leaks. When one of the repairs decided to spring another leak, he was out here within 1 day and fixed it pronto.
I am very satisfied with his work ethic, skill, knowledge and response time for these issues. PLUS, he is a Navy Vet, and being a Vet myself, I prefer to use AMD solar. Thank you Tony
