Mountview Tree Experts, a Fort Collins tree service, was founded by Jason Writz of Loveland, CO. Jason is a tree enthusiast. He received his Bachelor of Science in Urban Forestry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. As Arborists, we provide pruning, with the knowledge of tree biology for beautiful, strong, healthy, and safe trees that support landscapes and property values. Trees need trimming or pruning to remove dead branches, eradicate limbs that are rubbing on one another, and to make them safe. Selective pruning can also be performed to bring light and air to the inside of the tree's crown or to the lawn or landscape below.
Safely removing trees can be technically and physically difficult. It should never be done from a ladder. An Arborist will climb the tree, if necessary, and use ropes and rigging gear to lower sections of a tree safely avoiding damage to your house and property. We pride ourselves on being able to remove trees without causing property damage.
When people hear the words "Lodgepole pine, " chances are a tall, slim, evergreen pops to their minds. This is no surprise, seeing as this particular pine is one of the more well-known and recognizable conifers common to the Colorado region. Jason did an amazing job removing our tree and grinding down the stump. Pricing was reasonable and during a very busy time of year he kept us regularly informed of scheduling. Our tree was very large and he and his crew took great care in removal and cleanup.

Mountview Tree Experts was recommended to me by a local nursery. I needed a tree that was improperly planted by a different local nursery (and so it didn't make it) removed and replaced. Also needed a new large bush planted and some "save the tree" work done on one that our builder planted too deep. I learned all of this from Jason. Very knowledgeable and personable. He showed up right on time for our estimate appointment. We have a large oak, a small oak, two pines, and an ash that desperately needed trimming. The oaks and ash had been ransacked by the explosion of squirrels that bestowed our neighborhood this past year. Jason far exceeded our expectations and vision for our trees. We had three aspen trees in our front yard that required removal as one was dead and the other two were not healthy and had a significant amount of dead branches. Jason was responsive to our request for a bid and we were satisfied with what was included and the pricing. Jason arrived promptly at the scheduled time, then took time to walk around the property to ensure a successful removal. He took great care during both the tree removal and stump grinding. So disappointed...had this business come out and recommend someone to treat our ash trees...at the same time asked to have our Honey Locust trees trimmed. Was promised they would be back in July to assess the trees and set up time to trim them. After many unreturned phone calls we have given up on them and will contacting another company. Very disappointing..seemed liked really nice people.

Wow - I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was with Mountview Tree Experts! They had competitive pricing and were quick to come out and do the job of taking down a very large tree that was causing some damage to our home. They were so nice and easy to work with. It was fascinating watching them take down the tree limb by limb and in two days they had the tree down and all of the debris removed from the backyard. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone needing tree removal services.

I am so pleased I selected Mountview Tree Experts! Booking an appointment for a walk through and estimate is done online. I liked that because I could see all the open times for various dates. Had a meeting to remove tree stumps on from our backyard Aug 22, 2019 and after nearly 3 months, nobody has followed through with planned tree stump removal. Left several voice mails and sent a couple of emails to check in and get some kind of confirmation of a plan but never received any rerun call or email.

He is an arborist so when he came out to quote the job, he was able to give me some information about what was happening w/the tree and advice on how what we could do to care for it. It took a while to get a quote, but it's prime tree season, so I understand. Once I got the quote, Jason was responsive to my additional questions and requests and the quote was fair. He even fit us in a week later. Two full days of work and our trees not only look great, but I'm confident branches won't come tumbling down in wind, rain or snow. Jason was neat and cleaned up after the work was done. He seemed knowledgeable about our trees and could answer the questions we had. All in all, a great experience and well use Jason again.

I had Jason and his team out on two separate occasions. After quotes from other "big name companies", Jason came in at a MUCH better price. The first visit was a large cottonwood removal and trim of another tree. After they were done it was as if my yard had been vacuumed. Nothing to show other than a nicely trimmed tree and felled tree.
The second visit, when I only considered Jason after the fantastic first visit, was for removal of six diseased cottonwoods. Again, the project was flawlessly done. I had anticipate removing roots that spread through the grass, but they had done that as well!

Jason is great. Really good service, the final bill is never more than the initial bid and his rates are very reasonable compared to some of the larger shops in town. I'm an out of state owner and Jason has done probably 3-4 jobs for me in the last year or so- he's always done a great job and deals honestly. Would highly recommend.

Jason Writz is a skilled arborist who provides a very reasonable bid for his services and then exceeds expectations with his performance. We had dead trees leaning toward our house that would have done considerable damage if they blew down. He removed them with no damage to our home, fences or landscaping. When he found a raccoon with babies in one of the trees, he let us know and we opted to finish that one in a few weeks after the babies are weaned. We appreciated the thoughtful response.
