F A B I T A T by Dave Johnson is a full-service design firm, located in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas, Texas. We specialize in home interiors, and our look runs the gamut. Dave spent two decades designing in New York City for brands including Kenneth Cole and J. Crew. His move to Dallas in 2010 inspired a change in creative trajectory, and an opportunity to pursue his secret love: interior design.
We meet up at your home, and we measure and photograph the space we'll be working on. We'll also discuss and photograph what of your existing things you might want to use in your new design. This usually takes about 1/2 hour of design time. For whole room or whole home designs, we'll build a 3-D rendering of the space, to exact scale, so you can see precisely what your new furniture, paint color, drapery, or wallpaper will look like in your home.

Dave was a joy to work with. We re-furnished our living space with him and he helped us really make it a part of the house that we are proud to show off to others - even helping us identify creative solutions to a problem space that we didn't know what to do with. Within 30 minutes of meeting him, we knew Dave understood our vision and goals for our living room and perhaps most importantly - our budget and cost preferences. I highly recommend Dave! We were looking to decorate our new home with a cozy but more transitional design. We have two young children, which makes design a bit more challenging. However, Dave worked with us to figure out our vision and implement it. He made recommendations throughout the process that we would have never thought of on our own, encouraging us to consider great design choices that were outside our comfort zone. He helped design our cabinets and pick out furniture and also created multiple design renderings that helped us to actually visualize the space. Dave is very patient and thorough

Dave always responds quickly and very thorough in his replies. The quality of design work was far beyond what I expected. He listened to me, asked a lot of questions to thoroughly understand my vision and offered ideas in the process. Once the interior design was done and approved, Dave walked me through purchasing the items. His commitment to see the project to the end is amazing. I plan on hiring Dave again in the near future.

They helped me redecorate my whole condo when my fiancé and I moved in after my renters left. Dave made the whole thing very easy because we didn't have much time to get paint and tile in two bathrooms done, and they got it done just in time. They made my current furniture look much better in the condo than in my old place, and made combining my and my fiancé's furniture look great. Dave was very laid back and funny and made me glad we used a designer for this.
