I started Hiner Outdoor Living (originally Hiner Landscapes) for one reason; transform Colorado Springs into a town of "outsiders". Coming home from a stressful day, my wife Melissa and I would sit outside on our patio and take in the fresh air. This is when the epiphany of "why doesn't everyone have this" came about.
We may not have invented 3D design, but we have pioneered a design process that takes full advantage of its capabilities to give you a positive and informative experience. Our ground-breaking efforts earned us The ELITE Award for Innovation from Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado last year.
Each element has a low, medium and high option along with photos and a description to help you make your selection. Once you're happy with the way everything looks and the budget is where you want it to be, move on to Step 2. Medium sized area in need of demo and hauling needed to prepare for the new landscaping project.
Pond and water feature maintenance will keep your piece of paradise looking exactly how it's supposed to. Do you look at it with excitement, wanting to feed the fish or sit and listen to the waterfall? Or has it become an eyesore that you wish would just go away? Just saw Matt's introductory presentation - wow!
While this may be due to foliage falling in the pond, it can also be caused by something more permanent. For some homeowners here in Colorado Springs, just putting a patch on their water feature doesn't quite get them outside. We had a problem with the waterfall leaking and causing us to lose water.

In 2018, my husband hired Hiner Outdoor Living to install a pondless water feature and pond. They did beautiful work, and we absolutely love our water features! Everyone was very professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend hiring them to create your landscaping paradise!

We used Matt Hiner for two rounds of landscaping. First round appeared well. Second round was quoted as as 4-5 days, completed in 1 day, but they didn’t adjust the expense. As soon as they complete the project, they demand final payment. Literally the first thing they say. Give us our payment. Well, we had major drainage issues with their work. Concrete patio had major cracks (not covered,) and downspouts were buried. The rain came and I asked Matt about where the downspouts daylighted. His response: “We are done with your business.” We spent over $50,000 for basic landscaping and he didn’t

The tech spent a great deal of time emptying our pond and power washing the rocks to clean them of all of the algae He answered all of my questions and did a great job of putting the net on for winter. I will for sure use them again.

Hiner Outdoor Living completed a HUGE project for us within the past year. Having had a handful of poor experiences with other landscaping companies in the past, I feel inclined to share that Hiner Outdoor Living's level of professionalism, attention to detail, patience (with any questions & concerns we had throughout the process), the integrity applied towards doing the the job correctly and not cutting any corners, and the overall craftsmanship demonstrated by the team, are all qualities simply unmatched by other companies. Tremendous transformation and extremely happy with the results! We originally had a small pondless waterfall that was old, leaking and in need of a rehab. The crew from Hiner Outdoor Living had a vision of what they could do from the instant they saw the old water feature. Omar and his team went to work and proceeded to make a one of a kind waterfall that I’m proud to have people see and enjoy. If you don't mind losing $1,500 to get an estimate of over $230,000 to do landscaping for a very small lot (front and backyard combined), then Hiner is for you. We found this landscaper on Google and the reviews were highly rated but we should have read them all. If we had, we would have been warned. Our second mistake was giving money to have a design drawn up without setting strict budget requirements. If you're reading this, you probably think we asked for the moon and the stars for our yard. We asked for pricing to have a seating area, a place where a hot tub could be placed, and a very small

I'm always returning to their brick and mortar store for more plants and fish, advice is always friendly and excellent. We had a water feature in our backyard that was basically caving in and desperately needing attention. I got immediate attention along with a perfect solution. Marshall was very creative and gave us the solution. Very professional staff and crew! They did a perfect job with the water feature and landscape lighting. Much lower maintenance and absolutely beautiful! We were so impressed that we had him redo our lighting on an indoor water feature.
