In 1920 Clement Aloysius O'Donnell started doing small repairs and installing roofing with a company located in West Philadelphia. He worked on homes primarily in the city, but also worked on the construction of some of the main line homes which are still around today. He quickly caught on to how to do the job right and keep clients satisfied.
Asphalt roofing shingles are the most commonly used covering on residential properties in the market. Asphalt's primary purpose in roofing shingles is to serve as a waterproofing agent. Asphalt also holds the granules in place and adds to the overall strength of the roofing shingle. The best asphalt will stay flexible and will not dry out or become hard or brittle for the expected life of the roofing shingle.
Cedar is perhaps the oldest roofing material in use today, but its still very much a viable option for roof replacement. The interwoven felt used in cedar shake installation creates a durable roof system that is designed to "recycle" moisture beneath the material back out onto the roof surface. A cedar shake roof tends to have a more rustic look, and it can mesh well with a wide variety of architectural styles.

Used O'Donnell Roofing Co to provide trim capping and soffit on my 100 year old garage in Havertown PA. The skilled workmanship provided by Matt and Rich was amazing. Its like having a new garage again. With the flat wood surrounding the garage door, they added extra wood to created 3 dimensional layers. They did great job boxing in the old rafters with soffit and transitioning the front soffit to the side soffit. See Pictures. Matt and Rich are very skilled workers. Installed new smart vent, shingles, gutters, Hardie board and batten siding and azek trimmed my windows and garage door. Called these guys a few years ago about a roof replacement. The owner came out and recommended a couple low cost repairs to get the full life out of the roof. Wow, what an honest professional company! More recently I had them replace the roof, siding, and install a attic vent fan. Everything looks amazing for a great price. Scheduling was easy and company was on time and finished the job quickly. Most importantly they left my yard as they found it. No trash or nails left behind. Highly recommend and I hope they are around in 30 years when I get my next roof!

Kevin and the team at O’Donnell roofing did a great job on our window replacement job! I went through all of the advertised deals that you hear on the radio from the name brands. On a whim I reached out to O’Donnell after looking at their website and their total list of services offered.
Kevin came out to look at the second floor windows that needed to be replaced. He turned around a quote in a reasonable time. Once I compared all four quotes I received, it was clear that O’Donnell was the best choice. Even better that they are a locally owned and operated business.

We moved into our house 4 years ago. There was a 15 year old cedar roof that had missing shingles. Knowing a cedar roof should last 40 years, I called O’Donnell Roofing to have it repaired. Kevin O’Donnell came out in less than 24 hours, climbed up to my roof and took video of how bad my roof really was. The nails used to put on my roof were not the prescribed stainless steel, and had completely rotted out and the shingles were all loose and ready to blow off.

In addition to a replacement roof, Kevin and his team replaced our first generation vinyl windows with beautiful Anderson E Series aluminum clad replacement windows, added 3 window dormers to our roof line and replaced all the gutters and downspouts. Just worked with Kevin and Mike on a whole house roof, windows, and siding project. I highly recommend working with them. There attention to detail was great. Mike was very knowledgeable in our multiple meetings prior to project and presented a very clear proposal with options for upgrades and warranty. I am very impressed with how fast and efficient O'Donnell Roofing is. They had to totally gut out our old multi-layer flat roof before they could replace it with a new one. Then they replaced our sky roofs and gutters. All of this was done at a reasonable cost and in a timely manner. We were really pleased with their services and will recommend them to others!
