My goal is to create rooms that delight, comfort, and enlarge clients' personal visions. I'm inspired by the European practice of freely mixing contemporary and traditional elements, using color joyfully, pursuing originality through art and handcrafted objects, and valuing comfort as well as style.
The ability to mix color, texture, and pattern to create lively and interesting rooms that are never busy or overwhelming. Relationships with artists and craftspeople to provide unique paintings and objects, an appreciation and knowledge of art and craft, help in narrowing your choices, and the freedom to evaluate pieces in your own home.
Without your help in decorating my home, I wouldn't hear the "oohs' and "ahhs" it regularly gets from company. Your sense of color is so dead-on at this point I absolutely refuse to paint without your input. Most of all, I value your ability to work with my taste and the feeling I am going for in a room, though my style is very different from your personal one.
Although a grouping of furniture may suggest a use for a space, a rug is what grounds it, pulling all the elements together. It's an additional floor, and creates a room-within-a-room. Adding an area rug turns a sofa and two chairs into an inviting place to sit. Depending on its colors, it can also visually knit the space together, providing coherence or a needed punch of color.

Kathy is the best! She helped us with color, choices of furniture, where to place things, the whole picture! We were moving from a colonial house to a mid century condo so everything was different and we needed lots of help. In addition, we were working on a budget and had to be mindful of cost. Kathy was right there with that as well, always respectful of our limits but helping us to get the best we could afford. All in all, she was a tremendous help and worth the cost for her advice by far!

We have worked with Kathy on our kitchen, two bathrooms and also when I have purchased something impulsively and then have difficulty incorporating it into the existing design. Kathy is so helpful and respectful of our taste, and she is so talented with color. If you need to amplify, unify or tone down color, she is the right person to hire. Kathy has saved me a lot of money in that she tells me when it's important to spend a bit more on an item or when it will be just fine to save some money on a choice. She is always right about this. Kathy was recommended to us when we were remodeling a new house. We knew how we wanted it to feel and function but had no idea how to get there.
