Founded in 1963 as R.D. Washer & Dryer Service we've been a family owned and operated business ever since. We are a father and son team, second and third generation technicians, and we are trained professionals. RD Appliance Service, Corp. has been serving Long Island and Nassau County for over half a century.
Alexis is the office manager and customer service representative for RD Appliance Service, Corp. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help you with all your appliance needs and questions. Francisco joined our company in 2020. He is a graduate of Master Samurai Tech Academy and is a former systems design engineer for a major cable and internet provider.
We don't charge an hourly rate like a plumber or electrician. Instead, we use a national job rate guide which is a standard in the industry. It is called "The Original Blue Book Major Appliance Job Rate Guide - Online Version". This allows us to quote you an exact price, up front, after diagnosis, before any work is performed.
Excellent staff and courteous. The person who came here to fix my appliance was so kind, he was very intelligent with his knowledge to my appliance especially that it was an older model and very neat. He used a face mask and covered his shoes with a foot shoe covering. Highly recommend your company, for sure!

Very professional office staff and field technicians. The person I spoke with over the phone clearly explained the pricing structure as well as the risks to bring someone out for an assessment for an oven as old as mine. Our technician Anthony was very prompt and professional. He diagnosed the issue on site and had the part with him so was able to make the repair quickly.

First, I notice a wide range of reviews here from 1 to 5 stars.
I usually rate everything 5 stars because I appreciate great service.
BUT - the bad reviews here are because customers feel victimized by the unreasonable rates.
This company uses "friendly leverage" to jack up their prices. $165 visit plus a high "flat rate" on simple repairs. ($80 Oven Igniter)

I called for an appointment and they came 4 weeks later, they said it would be $800. for parts and labor, I gave them a $500 deposit and they came 3 weeks later with the wrong parts and gave me a bill for $1,200.00 showing $500 for parts and $700 for service call and repair. They are thieves! Stay away

I had a tech come out and check my oven paid 150 cash for diagnostic… never received anything about what was wrong with it.. then the pandemic happened so I forgot about it.. called to find out if I could still get the information from previous diagnosis and they said no I had to have someone come out again and check it again and pay another $150… sounds pretty ridiculous… do not recommend them or will use them again.. I basically got robbed !!

So I called for a squeaky dryer repair and they sent a tech pretty quickly. He gave me an estimate on the dryer repair and all seemed fine and I had to make a decision to fix or replace. Then there was an small issue that the owner came himself to correct.
Very happy with the customer service I received especially 3 days before Christmas.
Now I have to decide if I should fix my dryer with them or replace it.
I'll update my review if I go through with the repair.
