Strangelovely

This place is fantastic! The owner's style is chic yet vintage with a sort of rock and roll jungle vibe. Everything is styled nicely in sweet little vignettes. Strangelovely has everything from vintage clothing to home decor and furniture to candles and drink wear. This is a MUST to check out in Alton/Godfrey.

OMGoodness, a must visit! Vintage beauties everywhere. Clean, helpful, mask 😷 friendly, as well as hand sanitizers placed about.

My fiance and I have come in here a few times before and were so happy to find some nice glasses there the other day. This place is definitely worth stopping into. Always some great finds in here! They even have some chairs in there right now that I want to go back and check out. Just know that nothing stays there all that long so be ready to pull the trigger!

The space is always warm and inviting, the selection of goods beautifully curated, and the service friendly and helpful.

I came across this place a year and a half ago when I bought my house.

I bought several pieces and one was this brass coffee table. I can't say enough about it. But I adore it.
When you walk in, it smells amazing, the place is set up do beautifully it makes you want to literally move in.

Kim (Owner) is an amazing curator.

I can't explain enough how much I love this store. We happened upon this store after seeing something on Craigslist and felt like we'd fallen in to a wonderland of vintage finds. We had just moved in to a vintage apartment and our goal is now to make it look just like the store! We buy things every time we go in, which is often. And we LOVE Kim. I mean LOVE her! After going to the store once and realizing it was exactly the look we were going for, we asked Kim for a recommendation for a decorator and to our (unbelievably pleasant) surprise, she said she would help us out! I love StrangeLovely. I've been working with Kim before she opened this brick and mortar store and several things: she has great taste, she's super talented and (most importantly), she's pretty wonderful. I have her to thank for my dining room (which I LOVE) and when I needed a unique, fun engagement gift I found it at StrangeLovely.

Kim has some of the best inventory in Chicago. And ruggggs oh my god rugs and sofas! I see a chesterfield from her here and there and I am just drooooooling. Bonus: Kim prices very fairly, and she has GREAT taste!

These two ladies and their respective businesses are easily part of the anchor that makes the West of Western (WoW) district so awesome, alongside Richard's Fabulous Finds one block west.

Dropped by this shop the other day, and fell in love with at least three things on display. I'm still thinking about going back for a beautiful brass lamp that they had (with their 20% lighting sale!). Great selection (especially of mirrors!), and they had a cabinet pull selection that I'll definitely be going back to peruse.

Personal favorites include the jaw dropping mirror wall and Strangelovely's fantastic collection of textiles and tableware. Whether you are looking for a sofa or unique pair of chairs or stopping in to pick up a candle from Edgewater Candles (Red Ginger Saffron is amazing),you'll be sure to find something lovely.

Luckily I happened to discover this secret treasure by happenstance while looking for another store in the WOW district.. After spotting StrangeLovely , I never made it to the other place-- I was immediately drawn in by the colorful , stylish and unusual display of one of a kind vintage pieces.. The merchandise is beautiful and the atmosphere was so low key, it was refreshing. This is the place for one of a kind classic and stylish vintage furniture, clothing, and mid -century treasures. . Only wish I had a truck and the wallet, ( and the room! ) and I would have bought half of the merch !!Highly

You'd be hard pressed to find another in Chicago that looks as good. Kim, the owner, has a great sense of design and it's evident throughout the store. Her high-end collection features clean merchandise and moderate-to-higher prices. There's furniture, home decor items, lamps, women's clothes and shoes, and some jewelry -- all tastefully displayed in a bright, warm space.
